Your original prediction for Round 8 was massive unders, Bedge!! Can't believe how many 'dangerous tackles' are still occurring every round.

We had a fella get weeks for a ‘dangerous tackle’ and there was absolutely nothing in it , game wasn’t even recorded so not sure how they’ve decided to come up with the suspension

I'm with you, Burner. I think there has been a massive over-correction with the 'dangerous tackle'.

Appeal it?

I am intrigued in something, with Cam Matters incident of striking being delayed until next week, wouldnt it be risky to play him this week in case he does something silly again

I thought there was a rule prohibiting playing players awaiting their hearing?

(may be mistaken, but if not, there should be)

The flip side of the game not being recorded is we have no vision to back our case, not worth copping extra weeks on the small chance we’d be able to over turn it

The tackle did get paid holding the ball and 50 paid for carry on from the opponent. Non controlling umpire called the dangerous tackle. One of the worst display of umpiring I've seen

When the weekly update is released, generally mid afternoon

Seems an unusual feature of dangerous tackle suspensions is that they seem to be clustered within one game (and often within one team within that game) on a week to week basis.

Presumably there's some psychology underlying this but it's certainly a feature this year (noting two Goodwood players and three North Haven Players were done this week)

Irony too with the Goodwood blokes getting done in the return match against Brighton.

I'm curious how the dangerous tackles are found/reported etc. - does an umpire highlight in his report to review it? Do clubs "dob" in opposition tackles?

I know of a game on the weekend received 4x yellow cards for dangerous tackles, but not one report.. yet sides like North Haven and Goodwood have been slammed.

On another note, surely the Hope Valley Women's coach is tapped on the shoulder and told don't bother coming back.. twice in the same season for umpire intimidation / abuse charges.

Reflecting it might be circumstances where if there's 2 or 3 dangerous tackles where blokes get hurt/rattled you might be more inclined to look over the video, whereas if it's only one it doesn't stick out in anybody's memory enough to warrant a review.

And twice in one season for anyone for umpire abuse is deplorable. But particularly for women's footy in that it's still a lot of teaching rather than win at all costs going on. Most disturbing.

I know north haven used 3 tackles from the same game from the opposition as examples to try and help get theirs off, some of which were called holding the ball, and were told they to would also be suspended if a complaint was lodged, so clearly the umpires can’t differentiate between a dangerous tackle and a good one. Beyond a joke

Out of curiosity are these 'dangerous tackles' that are seeing players get suspended 'sling' tackles or are they ones where blokes are driving players into the ground (generally head first).
