No one would have cared about Iggies but then someone posts something and as you would expect people are curious. What’s the point posting something and then not saying what it is. Pointless post

He's done the right thing... if nothing has been proven it could drag a club or a person through the mud unnecessarily.

Potentially one of the biggest pick ups in the comp since Trengove.

Settle down jo172. Lets not stoop to the hysteria of that Facebook page. Joel Cross was a champion SANFL player but it's 7 years since he won is 2nd Magarey and he turns 36 in May. Played in the KI league this year and a very busy boy running the District Cricket comp during summer so suggesting he is the biggest recruit since Trengove is a stretch. Sam Gray and Curran are just two that spring to mind.

I would take Chris Curran or Sam Gray over him any day
Plus Curran and Trengove are only 31yo and Gray is 30

The more the better though

In my defence I forgot about Sam Gray.

Probably reflects more on me, but I had little understanding of who Chris Curran was prior to joining the AdFL (obviously a gun, i just need to pay more attention to the SANFL).

Probably unfairly left out Jack Stephens following his appearance during the COVID year too.

For a different conversation in a different place, but it's an interesting reflection on the footy landscape.

I'm reasonably confident if a bloke has played 150+ games for Norwood I'm familiar with them, but it seems outside of Norwood unless you're a Magarey Medal winner I have a pretty limited understanding of who the player is.

Given people here are higher-level footy tragics, can many people relate (in respect of what's a lowering of the estimation of League footy in general)?

https://sanfl.com.au/league/news/thanks-for-the-memories-2022/

By way of example, in that article I knew of Redden (played for the Power) and Allmond, but between Bradley, Hill, Keough and Overall there seem to be remarkably accomplished footballers who are significantly more anonymous than had they played 10, 20 or 30 years earlier.

You've let me down jo172. Myself and a few mates often discuss the level of sanity and common sense from other SA Footy contributors and you generally rate quite highly with your insightful and sometimes humorous input. But you need to brush up on your SANFL knowledge to win back our trust :)

It’d be a quick conversation if you’re discussing sanity and common sense from any SAFooty poster. ;)

Might be the reason I rated Cross higher than others. I think I mentally checked out from SANFL at the end of the Bassetball era (hence the quixotic endeavour of PNU circa 2019-2021 to reunite the entire norwood 2014 premiership side)
