He won't be cooking a bbq for his dad on Father's Day again. Nylon shirts and open flames aren't a good combination!

Jimmy, you'll need him back this week. Based on what I saw, your back-up ruckman (Tozer) will be missing a few weeks after his sling tackle on a young Glenunga forward.

Should have got a game for wearing nylon.........

Yes - The Tozer th(sl)ingy was not good
One positive is Davis can come back in
Neal is 50/50 for this week. Going to need a ****ing big band aid. He needs to stay away from goals or someone might slap him on the back
Otherwise its 182 & 178cm ruckmen

Yeah, not sure Schultz in the ruck is the answer to your problems. C. Short might need a call up to the A's. Not that you should have any issues dealing with TTG this week.

Dizzies and SHOC probably thought the same.

How the umpire didn't think it was a yellow card at a minimum is staggering

Definitely a few games in that, did the SHOC player return to the field? With a knock like that I’d think he would have missed the rest of the game.

I'm not convinced it's as bad as everything thinks? Looks like they're competing for the ball, then last moment TTG player braces and turns his body, and collects him high.

Don't think intention was ever to clean up the player.

Maybe a week or two for careless high contact?

Again, viewing from the front bar in front of the telly can give a different perspective - umpire sees contest with four players going towards the ball - and one gets collected high - free kick. Split second movements can be deciphered in many ways - he pays what he sees and is trained to do.

Plenty of room for those that think it's an easy job to grab a whistle and have a go!

Well he got 4 weeks so maybe the umpire might need some further training, unless of course he thought about it afterwards and had another look and reported it. Not sure how that side of it went down

In the umpires defence, none of the SHOC players seem to notice it happened either.
Not one player has a crack at the TTG player.
I think those in the moment just saw it as a footy collision and a free kick for high was a reasonable result.

Obviously with footage and the ability to slow it down, watch it again and again, it becomes apparent its worth games, but the point im making is it wasn't just the umpire that missed the fact this was a more serious incident in the moment.

How’s the crowd at todays prelim. Seen more people at a minor round game. Sad to see this at Div 1 level (or any level) but I guess that’s what happens when you play it at neutral sanfl ground and charge ten bucks at the gate in the current economic climate. I remember not so long ago prelims being played at home ground to the team who earned it and the ground would be packed out making for a great atmosphere and site for local footy.
