Top three battle looking interesting... Unley's big win over FP sends a message, albeit still early days. Lots of footy to come.

What a huge weekend it's going to be at Hope Valley. Modbury vs Valley's appears to be a ripping game - been a long time since they've played each other. I've noticed Modbury C grade winning very comfortably all year could valley's c grade give them a run for there money? Will Modbury's defenders be able to contain hope valleys tall forward line on a small oval? would expect it to be a large crowd there.

2001 was the last time we played each other in the A grade

before that it was 1990

2 weeks ago players were coming off with the blood rule on the cricket pitch at HV, yesterday they were coming off covered in mud, so much so the umpires couldn't tell which team some players were on  however with the nice weather forecast it might be just about perfect for next weekend.

Tough day for hope valley on past players & sponsors day getting smashed in all 3 grades - would have been a nice size crowd there I would have thought? Very surprised pembroke only winning by 3 goals to gaza. Popped out to watch Unley play they look like a quality outfit.

Yep Modbury far too good for HV in all 3 x grades. Was a huge day for the club, I estimated at least 1000 people in attendance. You couldn't get a park anywhere in the club and surrounding streets. It was shoulder to shoulder the whole way along the bitumen area in front of the clubrooms right around to the cricket nets. Bar and canteen takings were off the charts. At least the women's team had a win to finish the night off!

Our Past Players Day record has been poor against teams we are supposed to beat so we figured why not do it for a blockbuster local derby and whatever happens, happens? Our B's and C's were always going to be up against it, but I thought the A grade might have been a bit closer. If someone offered us a 6-1 start in Div 3 after not being in this division for 28 years, we would take that and run in a heartbeat. It's an exciting division to be a part of and we've got another 2 tough opponents coming up to finish the front 9

Let's look on the brightside, it's probably the first time in a long time it hasn't rained on past players day! 8) Looking forward to the return game at Modbury

Its always a buzz to play a local rival in your senior years.. The last time i played at Hope Valley was in under 17.5's back in 2004! just a small 19 year gap between drinks, i can confirm the oval has not got any bigger! :D

It was a perfect day for footy and seeing so many people in attendance really makes you love the healthy rivalry of the North Eastern clubs.

If you're bored and feel like freezing your buns off, the D4 Grand Final replay takes place under lights tonight at Norwood Oval

Pembroke OS v Hope Valley - A grade starts at 8pm

$5 entry, and i believe this is donated to melanoma research.

Also being live streamed if you're a sook and don't like the cold

How did you land Norwood oval? And is there a special reason behind it?

Massive day for Seaton tomorrow with the last home game before they knock down the club and build new club rooms. A lot of history at the footy club and it begins the new era at Seaton. Will be very emotional for a lot of die hard Ramblers who have spilt a lot of Blood sweat and tears in that club!!!
Hopefully the players can send the club off with 3 wins!!!

Jeez - just seen footage on facebook of scotch winning after the siren. Super super lucky holding the ball paid in my opinion - Westminster would be filthy.
