Yeah, I believe so.
Where that team plays, I don't know for certain.

I am saying your sources are wrong and sad is an understatement.
I wish the new guy all the best in C5.

sources are wrong on what, exactly?

Clearly what you said about Elizabeth getting a pass to stay in division 6.

 Well to make sure, i've asked the CEO and he confirmed D6 is where Elizabeth will play in 2024.

Still questioning my sources now?

Farcical to have a bye in the reserves if thats the case that Elizabeth stay in 6.

Any more farcical than having a BYE in the A grade? No way a club is coming up from D7 at this late stage plus I’m not sure if the league rules allow a division to have 7 teams if the one above has 9 or 10. At least clubs still get 9 home games. Stand-alone game when you play Elizabeth may not be ideal but still means a bit of trade at your club that day and after the game. Unlike knowing you are in a 9 team division back in November, to lose a team this late can disrupt some of the season plans. I’m sure the league has spoken to the other D6 clubs about the Elizabeth situation and that everyone is on the same page. D6 and D7 have had some curve balls to deal with over the years so this is nothing extraordinary.

Not a great situation but surely a bye in the b grade is a much option than having a div 7 side come up last minute unless there is one really willing, which would be unlikely. Maybe if one came up you could give them immunity from relegation as an incentive. ;)

Who said anything about a D7 club coming up?

Rules & Regs allow for Eliz to field one side for this season - pretty sure it was in one of the updates the other week.

Only three options:
1. Play D6 and have a bye in D6R
2. Play D6R if another local club fails to field two sides.
3. Play C6 and be scheduled effectively like another clubs C grade, alleviating one of the byes.

Considering Elizabeth haven't even contacted the league to explain its situation I highly doubt this is true, But you keep talking and we will see.

Hmm nah I think she’s probably closer to the mark than you think.

League may not have spoken directly to Elizabeth - or the club contacted them - but would be naive to think they aren’t aware of the situation or making plans and contingencies based off what is potentially going to happen.

The challenge for Lizbeff at the moment is being transparent and upfront with the league and working with them.. if you don’t, and it goes south, you’ll be on your own.

Tough call.

Force them to D6 they fold, let them piggy back off a vacant C6 spot behind Central United (who play close by) and they survive.

Of course they would have to severely limit who could put hand up to play in C6, but my understanding its only C grade type players left at the club atm.

Shows how much you know about your own club because they have contacted the league explaining their situation, they’ve even submitted a team sheet with all of its registered/potential players..

My thoughts are let them play A grade in Div 6 (reserves have the bye) and see how they go round 1 against Eastern Park out at Dwight Reserve before making a decision beyond that game.. Obviously all percentage and points stand for whoever wins that particular game, if the eagles happen to go down well then every other team just gets a 10 goal forfeit :) :) :)

Is the decision to have byes locked in? Farcical to move these teams to a C competition. 4 team division 8 competition? [emoji23]

Yes, has been locked in. Everyone is staying where they are

These clubs have also been advised of the consequences of forfeiting on more than three occasions and have already had the expectations for re-registration in 2025 very clearly explained.
