Separate SAFooty Regional Website????

Just wondering what people would think if we created a separate site for the regional boards?
I could set it up so everyone registered here and all the posts currently here would transfer to the new site and you could still post on here with the same user details.
Only downside would be if new people wanted to register they'd have to register twice if both sites interested them.

If we did make a SAFootyRegional.net we could even set it up so each league or area or division had their own forum so instead of the amount of people that just tack converstaions onto the same thread you would have plenty of room to start new topics.

The added bonus would be that if we split the site in 2 and put them on different servers it'd ease the workload on the servers and mean both sites would be less likely to blow up a server or come down again.

Im interested on getting lots of feedback re this as this site is only as strong as the people that use it.

Cheers.

forgive me if im wrong about this post

wouldn't creating another site, i.e. domain name and hosting cost some sort of $$$

couldn't you just use this $$$ in putting the forums on a server would should be able to handle the sort of traffic this site gets

personally either way i wouldnt mind if we have 2 sites, or just 1, but I think people would find it easier to have just 1

just my 2 cents

Nah not really, we've got the webspace we used to run SAFooty on until October and its relatively cheap.
If it meant taking stress of a server or 2 I wouldn't even mind forking out for the cost of that 1 extra site myself.

Domain Names cost stuff all too, about $15 US a year.

Personally I'd rather try and find the extra $350- $400 a year to make separate sites knowing both sites would be more stable.
If we have to go up another level of plan on our current wespace it goes up by another $600 anyway so I don't want to get close to having to do that.
