Important games in the final round......

Postby LaughingKookaburra » Mon Aug 13, 2007 10:22 am

With the last round of amateurs (Div 2 and below) this weekend what are the defining match ups.Either to avoid relegation, determine finals positions or even just to save a coaches backside.

huge week this week for div 6.
westminster (8th) OS v lockleys (5th) - lockleys by 6 goals
Mitchell Park (9th) v West Croydon (6th) - west croydon by 10 goals
Hectorville (4th) v Hope Valley (3rd) - hope valley to sneak in and get the double chance

according to my rough calculations, west croydon have to win by 7 goals more than lockleys do to make the difference (.58) of percentage. both are away which can often have a bearing on the result.
Last round west croydon by 68 points, lockleys by 80 points. I'd imagine there'd be a spy at each game furiously phoning the scores through.

Yeah, our b's need to win this week against the 2nd side for an elimanation final berth.I notice CBCOC v St.Peters in div 3 with the loser being relegated. Also div 4 relegation battle is pretty intense.

Yep, big game for us this week...figured out yesterday that we need to beat Districts by 20 goals and Scotch need to lose by 10 goals for us to make the finals..GO PHOS!!!

Seriously though... div 3 is the one to watch this week, with 3 teams on 9 wins, there are 3 games that can/will affect the outcome of the final 5. SW play FP and are most likely of the 3 to nab 4th spot as Iggies and eastern Park are playing Walkies and Athelstone (I think)..

Who will miss out?
Don't play games with a girl who can play 'em better...

D4 - Rosewater vs Portland @ Rosewater. Rosies need to win to avoid relegation. Adds a bit more spice to the local derby. Should be a cracker !!! Unley also trying to avoid relegation but play Salisbury, who are a top 3 team. Very tough assignment.

Agree, bunch of absolute clowns.Don't play us in a trial because they think we would not be gooder enough opposition.Funny seeing we have beaten them in trials in 2005 and 2006.They have never acheived anything and they wont any time soon with that attitude.

Every game in A4 has something riding on it except Para Hills v Ingle Farm. Home finals and relegation still in the balance...
