GAZA & the chokers

Postby Rotter » Sat Aug 18, 2007 1:46 am

There's no doubt GAZA seems to have most of the comp bluffed like they have in past years and that has been with some increased credibilty but the true test will come in the next few weeks and it will be wether they emulate their past finals performances and go out in straight sets or at the very least win one and out. In a nutshell, they are better side but the mantal scars inflicted at that club by others might be to much to bear. Yes, I'm tipping they'll get to a Prelim but then same old story - choke. The ones that have been part of past failed finals campaigns will end up on the veranda in a rocking chair weaving baskets at Glenside.

I'm not sure if Saturdays performance endorses this topic, apparently they were totally outplayed. But Mead did tear strips off them after the game, maybe he knows what is going to happen in the finals?????

I've just read my original post and I suppose it could be misconstrued as an attempt to shit stir but it was an honest observation of Gaza's performances in the past 5 or 6 years when they have dominated the comp during the H/A season most notably when Broadview had 40 odd goal turn around from the 2nd semi to the GF in 04 and then Goodwood beating them from 5th spot in 05. I think they were the years.

Fair call. Thats 1 of the reasons Anderson got the arse. Finished in the top 3 last 3 years and haven't really given a whimper. Good effort to finish upstairs on the ladder but surely you gotta get more out of it.

Dingalinga, I presume you have a reliable source of info but my contribution to it is that the Port Magpies had been speaking with Mead who with all due respect gives the impression he could handle a leauge job with aplomb and that may have been an informal chat and then they decided to stick with Timmy G. I reckon Mead would be smart enough to stay away from South given he had a couple of years there as footy mgr and could see himself at WWT if Ronnie decides he's had enough or Westies which probably wouldn't be a bad option.

Goodwood 20.17 (137)
Gaza 11.7 (73)

BOG - Dave Bartel

6 goals in the first 6 or 8 mins to goodwood and the game was gone....
Gaza had the game lost before it started. they were out warming up as the siren went in the B's on a pretty warm day, they must have been knackered by the time it started.

He seemed to have a shocker on the weekend against a quality ruckman, although I would suggest he isnt really a C grade ruckman seeing he finished equal 4th last year in the medal count and then 8th this year. I do however concur we would all benefit from him visiting a hairdresser... that hair cut is beyond a joke!

fair enough it was the first D1 game I've seen for 3 years and at least I was sober this time and yes it was a bad game hence my comments and didn't he cop it from the Goodwood crowd

Since working for a major sponsor of Goody Saints I hope we get the call up tomorrow to extend the trophy room down a Goodwood Oval

The guy is a top bloke, although if anyone is going to sport a hairstyle like that they would want to back it up with damn good football, playing a bad game in a GF with hair like that you deserve to cop it from the opposition crowd.
