Was that the only Test the Victorian Phillips played. He replaced the dropped Geoff Marsh (popular choice with the Perth crowd too!!) ? I think he only scored 8 or thereabouts in 1st innings.
Bit different to South Australian Plillips who knocked up 159 - I was there to see that!

WB Phillips (Flipper) was the first one, and WN Phillips was the second. When WN Phillips was selected, Flipper rang the ACB asking what time they wanted him to fly over. He was joking, but the ACB thought he was serious and tried to break to news gently.
