Great news. Tait deserves his chance and could really scare a few of the English and NZ batsmen.

Obviously I'm very happy this has happened and while he didn't have the impact against the Vics we would have liked, he has been in great form otherwise since he came back from the hamstring injury.

Excellent news. South Australian cricket really needs something to show for this season and hopefully Tait gets a chance in the green and gold. Watching last night's game, only McGrath and Lee are certainties. While Johnson, Bracken and Clark have performed pretty well, I see no reason why Tait can't leapfrog those guys to take one of the four fast bowling positions. I think he has bowled very well either side of his injuries this season. I'd love to see Lee, McGrath, Tait and Johnson as our fast bowling line up in the World Cup.

Once every generation a bowler like Tait comes along. I recall Thomson busrsting onto the scene and terrorising batsmen. He did very little for NSW and Qld before being chosen for Australia, but he was picked because he was damned quick. No batsman in the world will ever be comfortable facing Tait, and that is a fact. Get him in and get him in now. He won't bowl at this pace forever, and we must benefit from him while we've got him. Bowlers like Clark, Johnson and Hilfenhaus will always be around, you can pick them any time. I want Tait in our TEST team.

James Hopes' comment about Tait a few weeks back:

"I've said heaps of times that I've faced him I'd pick him in any team I selected. He's a wicket taker and, mate, he bowls express. That's as quick as I've faced all season."

That sums up why he should be in the team. Obviously with a bowling action like his, longetivity will be an issue so get him in now.

That is the issue. We cannot afford to waste Tait any longer. My only regret this summer was not watching him bowl at the hapless English batsmen ... that would have been too cruel :)
