I've got a better system. Bowl the whole 50 overs, otherwise it's a draw. If that means coming back the next day, well so be it. One day cricket will always be a joke in my eyes, for this very reason.

Now your talking.
In lead up games use D/L system
But in finals , play the games out.

One of the greatest form reversals in memory.
Australia unbeatable.
Flintoff was mentally shot.
Collingwood couldn't hold a bat.
Bell was finished and was only in the side on account of no other bats in the squad.
Nixon, a 36 y.o keeper on debut. All thought England were mad.
Plunkett and Mahmood - two young very inexperienced bowlers coming up against the likes of Gilchrist, Ponting, Hussey.
The finals? Forget it. Aust 2 NZ 0.

No Symonds no Australia?

Also, a bowler who can shape the ball towards the slips at pace will threaten our top order every time.

PS On the McGrath issue - would be the first bowler picked in my side every time. Should be opening the bowling imo.

Dont know if it has been mentioned yet but Dalrymples catch was one of the best ive ever seen!
I hate the poms but i do like Flintoff, Dalrymple and Plunkett. They could all play for Australia A easily.

There's a fair probability that Flintoff would make the Australian side.

As for Darymple -pshhhh. Great catch though.

Plunkett shows a lot of promise though. See what happens.

I blame the selectors for our finals defeat

1. During this series they should of blooded a new opener, Jaques would of been my choice, as he is suited to the 50 over game

2. Team Balance and Bowling attack, the selectors have confused themselves, Lee, McGraph and Bracken seem certainties, Watson was selected and Tait, Clark and Johnson missed out, while White was rarely seen with the ball in his hand

I feel the selectors are not any closer in deciding their attack, or whether to go with specialist bowlers or all round batsmen who can bowl a little

The end result, the selectors have not got the team balance right and they are not picking the strongest players in their spots.

We should of looked atthi series to see what Jaques could do, maybe have a look at Hussey opening, or Hadden down the order, this lack of vision may cost us a world cup

it would be a nail-biter.

SA after the draw against QLD may do well in the longer version of the game, because the POMS finally arrived on tour in Jan when they started to win a couple of games. I guess one-dayers can have that affect, make teams look better then what they are.

Try watching it with what's left of the Barmy Army sitting two rows in front of you.

Now that's ******* annoying!
