Sibley is no better, awful

Sibley is pretty unco and his stance makes him hard to watch.
I hate the way Burns chops down on the deliveries that are angled across him when he tries to play straight. The ball comes off his outside edge, squirts out to point/backward point and he always seems to get runs doing it. He did it countless times in the Ashes last year and did it a bit in the first innings in this match.

Holder has the potential to bowl 5kms quicker without changing much which would make him an ever harder proposition to face. He's a cracking player. Always rated Gabriel, he's a genuine spearhead. Roach has proven me wrong, I thought when he lost a yard of pace he'd be cannon fodder but he seems to have adjusted his role. Jimmy Anderson's looking like a constipated Ralph Macchio.

Interesting watching Wood's comparison between 2015 and now, longer run-up and finishes lower in his follow through. Should've listened to Michael Holding earlier.

The Windies quicks seem to completement each other really well, Holder is a gun, looking forward to seeing how he goes with the bat aswell.

How many of you guessed it was Jason Holder? Pat Cummins, Neil Wagner, Mohammad Shami; any of these would be valid, understandable guesses. All three have over 60 wickets each in that period, compared to Holder's 39 but it is Holder who has the best average (14.66) among bowlers with more than 20 wickets. He also has the best economy rate (2.66). He has the best strike rate of the three. He has four five-fors in that period, the joint-most with Wagner.

Since 2017 in countries where the Dukes is used - England and West Indies - Holder is on par with the master - James Anderson.
The England strike bowler has 82 wickets in 19 Tests at 17.10 with an economy of 2.43. Holder has played three fewer matches, but has picked 67 wickets at 17.97 with an economy of 2.49. In the rest of the world, where the Kokaburra and SG Test balls are used, Holder has played just five tests, taken 14 wickets (one five-for) at a healthy average of 25.92. He's still not easy to score off, conceding just 2.44 per over.

Interesting to see how these batsmen are playing the short ball, scrunched up. That's how you play punching off the from foot. Back foot you open up your body more so you can control the shot.

Thank god he has made some changes and lengthened his run up, it looks so much more comfortable now, there's no way he'd have any longevity if he stuck with his old run up and follow through. His ankles would be loving it, looks like there's alot less stress on his body now.

Archer's run up and action is much easier on the eye and looks so much less stressful on his body. He's bowling high 80s and it looks almost effortless.

Very different techniques but both have improved things on their body. Wood twists more in his delivery stride so staying lower means his upper body isn't fighting the hips, knees and ankles as much and Archer is more rigid so he looks more mechanical but is staying upright and thus less likely to hurt himself.
