5/147 in the final, probably 20 to 30 short against the opposition batting lineup

Correct - because the Women's program is going well he stays in the job. That's fine - let him run the women's side and get someone else in to do the men's!!

NSW have sacked coach Phil Jacques

How Dizzy and Tim Neilson survive is incredible with their records

We just keep putting up with mediocrity, NSW take action after only five games!

Dizzie is taking the piss by continuing to play Weatherald and Lehmann.
They’re not part of the future so just move them on.

Carder and Scott have struggled at this level but they have to persist with them

In NSW they deal with failure appropriately. Here in SA we reward it - rumour has it that Dizzy has a 2-year extension!!!
Don't get me started on Nielsen - in particular his being present at the WBBL semi and final. Apart from everything else, it's well known he is a massive hater of women's cricket and was slammed as such in the Hussey report. Another issue "swept under the carpet" by the Board who have to be as much culpable for the state of the game in SA as anyone.

The ABC cricket podcast have suggested they're going to do a deeper dive into state cricket in future episodes, suggesting they may get a guest on from the relevant state to discuss cricket. Ed Cowan touched on the SA cricket and suggested the difference between Tasmania, who Ed thinks are doing well and population bases are comparable is that while both states have policies of finding players from interstate to give them opportunity, it is Tasmania's ability for their locals to step up and contribute in the Shield comp versus SA who cannot or don't.

I hope they do take a hard look at it for each state.

The whole culture and mindset needs to change at the SACA.

I’d like to know what the KPI’s are for players, coaches and high performance managers.
Surely if you continue to fail to meet standards you get moved on like in any business in the real world.

It’s been 20+ years of absolute tripe down at the SACA.

Move Nielsen AND Dizzie on at years end and start a rebuild with a process in place.
None of this jump at shadows crap they do each year to appease some members.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Having been out of the junior cricket loop for 20 years and come back to it recently with junior G, I found it amazing you can just walk in and try out for district cricket a a kid.

Used to be invite only, usually after having a good season in school or club cricket.

Is it due to lack of numbers, or district clubs just trying to fill their boots with 2 x junior teams in each grade?

Just trying to get names on the books. Think the rules are you can join either the club you zoned to or any neighbouring club zone. No clearance required unless you have previously been registered with a club.

Some clubs have started under 12 academy's to kick start the process and get a side together for the following year' under 13s.

I've recently added the ABC podcast to the list of podcasts I listen to, I've always enjoyed Cowan's insights into international and domestic cricket and like you I hope they take a hard look at each state.
