Feel for McSweeney here. Was gutsy as in the first albeit didnt really get a 'score'.

Has nothing to be achieved here.

A pretty template Aussie win.

Bowlers were brilliant, most of the wicket coming from gems. If catches were held could have bowled them out for 100.
McSweeney and Labuschagne gutsy but the first innings lead coming from individual brilliance.

Unchanged next test??? Labuschagne gets some respite but the pressure heaps on Smith. Only change would be if Hazelwood is fit. After last summer i cant see Starc playing all 5 tests but feel maybe Melbourne or Sydney would be the one he misses.

Good to get the win without loss.

I'm almost certain Shami will be on the next flight to Aus.

What do India do??

Rohit looking a tad out of touch but will better for the test, perhaps the same can be said about Gil as well.

Probably only two changes to consider. Does Rohit go to the top of the order? Do they fly Shami over to come in for Rana.

Stupid quirk in the rules, run was completed before ball hit the rope = 1 run because the game is over. If it goes for six it counts as a six iirc.

They completed 1 run before the ball crossed the boundary, so its only 1.
If you want the 4 you just have to stand in your crease and admire the shot

I’d almost rather lose a close 5 day test than what just happened. Horrible outcome for the consumer

Keep Jasparit down to say, about 5 wickets for this test and the Ozzies should win
Its a pity Hazelwood is injured , but Boland is a good replacement

Jasparit took 4 wickets in this Test
Australia win
Once again AU win a Pink ball test

AU will be fav in Brisbane now

Between that, throwing the ball at Labs and not turning to face the umpire to appeal, I should imagine the Indian Cricket Council to fine him 10%

Maybe nothing at all - I thought at the very least the not facing the umpire to appeal would have got some sort of sanction.

Siraj fined 20% of his match fee, Head reprimanded and each received a demerit point.

Usually sanctions get announced earlier than that, so it's a surprise to now see it (esp. a 20% fine). Apparently you don't have to face the umpire to appeal now.

Press release
David Warner on the Labs batting AO
".... So from that perspective he had the best conditions to come out and bat in..."

Can someone please explain how the Lab batted in the best conditions ?
He started at night, under lights, pink ball, against the worlds best bowler
The Lab survived in extreme bowler friendly conditions, then prospered the day after

There4 I find that Warners comment, unless taken out of context , is somewhat confusing.

Warner says that Glen Maxwell doesn’t deserve to be considered for the Sri Lanka Test tour because he hasn’t played enough first class cricket … says the bloke who made his international T20 debut for Australia without having previously played a first class match. #-o

Warner is trying to be the next Kane Cornes …

I wonder if you could run a single fast enough to complete before the ball sails over the boundary?

You could, if it sails onto the roof with some hang time.
