Even weirder that no-one went for the catch.

Not sure where Smith’s career is at … less than par as a keeper, and despite some good innings, but not this tour, is erratic with the bat. Wouldn’t make most sides in either discipline on current form.

I don't think whuffer was saying Head's attitude meant england made it to 3/210 yesterday.

Whuffer, in my opinion, was suggesting that head's comment, one of 'silver linings' rather than bitter disappointment after losing the boxing day test in 2 days, shows the attitude within the Australian dressing room.
Head's comment, was another example, that the dressing room considered the job done after adelaide, and they haven't been quite as switched on since.

Even if Whuffer wasn't saying that, then I will.

The Aussies, since Adelaide, haven't played with the same intensity.
Starc's total lack of celebration on the first wicket of this test shows that for mine.

I agree with previous comments, that the boys appear to be going through the motions for these last two tests, rather than playing with that absolute desire to win at all costs.

I hope they say thanks Josh for an outstanding career and start looking elsewhere given it is likely we'll have Starc and Cummins at the next ASHES in 2027

Don't hate him in at all....in fact i spent a lot of great time with Trav when he was younger and know him pretty well. He spent his entire school entire through his primary school years at the Craigmore Y vacation care to which i was working in the holidays. Spent hours on hours bowling to him every holiday and getting smashed all over the place by him.

It's clear though through comments from himself and the coach that once the series was won the focus has gone a bit. Knowing Trav he would have said it somewhat tongue in cheek but also somewhat genuinely as he enjoys life away from cricket as well.

I know the back story so that's what spins me out when you hang him out, I'm not sure what Trav could've done yesterday to make anything any different, I'm sure he'll bat the same way, I guess if he fails he threw his wicket away was disinterested, if he tons up he's a hero.

Our bolwing was lacklustre, I don't think it was through lack of effort or desire, I'm sure they all wanna get them out and spend time in the shed, we're just not as good as we think we we are without our full compliment of bowlers, we've always bowled in pairs that compliment each other, we don;t have that at the monent and despite recent efforts Root and Brook are world class batters, we only have 1.5 world class bowlers playing atm.

I'm not sure that Harry Potter would'v made much difference, probably would've only improved our pathetic over rate, obviously the penalties are too soft, 45 overs and we finished up about 12 minuted before the scheduled tea break. Watching live you see how long the run ups are and how much time they waste piss-farting around, there is no sense of urgency whatsoever.

Not hanging Trav out at all.......i dont blame them, they've won a high pressure series, played lots of cricket and have lots to come. It was clear with the combination of Ronnies comments, Trav's comments, Cummins put on ice, Starc's lack of reaction taking that first wicket yesterday that the foot is off the pedal a bit.

It's no big stress, they will still make the WTC Final and we will at least get 4-5 day test but lets not pretend thats not the case either.

I also think that attitude would come from the fact so many 'appear' to feel very safe in the side no mattter what the form suggests. No im not saying Head should be dropped but Khawaja, Labuschagne, Smith, Green all seem to know they will get a game no matter what. That isnt the most conductive to induce high performance.

It is great batting conditions out there, getting in to the 80 over mark, and it looks to be the best batting conditions put there.
