Steve Waughs Hundred against England at the SCG

The Ashes in 2005 (Especially Game 2 and 3)
Mark Waugh's Brilliant match winning century in South Africa on a dodgy wicket (Cant recall the Year)

Will certainly remember this match for the Smith Incident.

I would add these two to my list

There is a few now I think about it.

-92/93 Aust v Windies in Adelaide (McDermott was not out!! F*****g Darryl Hair!)
-2005 England v Australia 2nd test (Kaspa was'nt out!!), Aust win that 2-0, Ashes over!!
-1992 World Cup Aust v India, Steve Waugh drops catch of last ball and throws it to Boony who was keeping and run out, Australia by 1 run.
-That F*****g 1 dayer at the Wonderers where 850 runs were scored, we lost.....

Old Trafford 1997

Australia bat first on a dodgy track and Steve Waugh makes a gutsy ton
He backs up gain in the 2nd innings with another batting with teh tail to get us a lead of over 400.
Ian Healys stumping of Butcher off Bevan - quite simple the best bit of wicket keeping I've ever seen in my life. Technically perfect (feet and hands, stayed low) and brilliant anticpation to get teh stumping of a waywad ball down leg-side.

For Batting - hard to go past Pontings dig in the 2003 World Cup final
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

My first test match that Dad took me too, way back in 88/89 Aust Vs West Indies at M.C.G. Boxing day, Allan Borders 100th test, it was bouncer after bouncer. S.Waugh i think top scored in our first innings with a gutsy 40 odd, since that day Waugh became my favourite player.

Aust v WI 1st Test at the WACA, November 1984

A memorable match in terms of witnessing the legendary West Indies pace battery of Holding, Marshall and Garner at the peak of their powers.

The game kicked off on the Friday with the Windies batting first and Australia made some early inroads into the top order, including Terry Alderman bowling a young Richie Richardson for a duck. At stumps they had them 6/211 (actually a very low run rate by today's standards).

The next day, Larry Gomes and keeper Jeff Dujon engaged in a rearguard 7th wicket partnership with each scoring centuries. This took the West Indies to a healthy first innings total of just over 400. Late on the 2nd day the Aussies commenced their 1st innings and early cracks began to appear in the top order with 3 wickets down for about 30 by the end of the day.

Those cracks soon became craters on Sunday morning as 'Whipering Death' (Michael Holding) produced a devastating spell of fast bowling to claim 6/21 and have Australia all out for just 76. It all happened within just over an hour and the follow-on started well before the lunch interval. Captain Clive Lloyd was not about to release the pressure valve either. Two Aussie 2nd innings wickets were secured before lunch and the game was as good as over. The pace battery was so relentless that I vividly remember Graeme Yallop looking dead set scared at the crease.

Australia showed more steel in the second innings but it wasn't enough to avoid an innings defeat. I think The Windies won by an innings and 112 runs.

The test at the Oval between West Indies vs. Australia in the 92/93 series.

Australia one nil up in the series. Tim May turned on the spell of his life to snaffle 5/9 to leave the West Indian supermen a mere 184 ahead with an innings to play. My wife won tickets to see every day of the game and I attended the three days (had to play cricket on the Saturday). At the end of the third day's play the Windies were jogging laps and here's me up on the hill sledging em yelling out 'ITS OVER BOYS' and shit like that.

The next day we were seven down for less than a hundred and I wasn't feeling quite so chipper. Many of the top order gifted their wickets that day. The tail wagged and you could sense the hope of the crowd which began to build steadily DO IT FOR AB was the feeling. Shane Warne, that man May again and the unlikely Craig McDermott inched us closely to what looked to be an impossible victory a session earlier. A mere two runs short the wicket falls.

Everyone is in complete silence..you could have heard a pin drop. I was with my mate Champ and had this vacant stare on his face..anyone who was there would remember the atmosphere. A brilliant test match at the best cricket ground in the world with the reigning champs not quite ready to reliquish their hold on world cricket supremacy just yet to the rising Australians.

Teeball and One Dayers haven't got close to that even though they've tried to bottle it and put on a coloured label. Cricket at its absolute best.

regards,

REB

Ashes Boxing Day Test Match in 82/83.

Australia chasing 292 for the win, but slump to 9/218.
Border is the not out batsman and Jeff Thomson comes in to join him at number 11.

No one gives them any hope.
They make to the 5th day with about 40 left to get.

It's free admission to the MCG and around 18,000 turn up to see what happens.
The target is whittled down to 4.

Thomson is on strike and Botham is the bowler.
There's a nick and it flies straight to Tavare at 2nd slip who somehow spills it straight over his head.
Miller runs around behind him and completes the catch and gives England victory by 3 runs.

Great wrap up.
You just forgot to mention the bit where Ian Botham runs around like a mad man and Bob Willis climbs all over him ;)
