South Australia vs England

17-19 November at Adelaide Oval

At last, we get a tour match.

But why, oh why, do they persist in these bloody three day things for?

Because it is probably what England asked for.....recovery between matches ya da ya da....flying time.....

IIRC I think it has been mentioned somewhere (cricinfo maybe) that it wont be a first class match as England will play all their players in the match (all tour matchs - the 1st 2 anyway), in other words all their batsmen will get a hit and all their bowlers will have a bowl it will be the SA XI vs the England XV....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I will still be going regardless, as I am in Adelaide that weekend!

After missing out on Ashes tickets, this is as close to a Test that I will get this year. Got my Australia Day ODI tickets though!!

Last time SACAs played Poms in a tour game was 1998.

All I recall is that Arnold and Crook served up pies to G.Thorpe and Ramprakash all day. The most insipid cricket I have ever had the misfortune to watch!

Hope Tait pays that back by cracking some skulls.

With any luck Dizzy and Tait will be pushing for selection and looking for some Pommy scalps.

LMAO Permstance!! Touring sides don't play Sheffield Shield teams to give the local fans anything, these games are meant to be tune ups for the tests, you should know that when you roll up and pay for your ticket. You aren't really watching a match per se, but rather a chance for Cook or Bell to get some time in the middle or for Flintoff to shake off some of the rust. After having a bo peep at the Jellyback's latest effort you woudn't be backing them to bat for two days against Zimbabwe.

lol .. Where's that Captain Obvious photo when ya need it ... My point Richard, was that when we were last over there we were lucky to get a game at all, and the County sides did their best to bat as long as possible to deprive the Aussies of as much match practice as possible, my hope was that we would do the same!

REB - in 2005 Essex made 5/500 in 1.5 days cricket against the Aussies. Alistair Cook got a double ton. I think this is the type of performance he might be refering to.
