SHOAIB + ASIF naughty naughty naughty

Postby mal » Thu Nov 02, 2006 11:09 am

The talented Pakastani cricketers have had bans placed
SHOAIB 2 years
ASIF 1 year

Bit harsh but a precedent has now been set with the 2 Pakis and
also with Shane Warrrrrrrrrrrrney in 2003, that is dont take
illegal substances in cricket.
I have to agree with the penaltys as we dont want cricket ending
up like the Olympic Shames where it is seemingly rife.

Is it the end of the enigmatic Shoabs career ?

Shoaib is 31 - you would say that this ban has effectively ended his career...

Can you imagine if drug tests went on at Amateur level lol, most footy & cricket clubs would halve in size (and for some that could just be the juniors!!)

I think CP may be talking more along the lines of "recreational" drug use.

Most people can say that they have seen it at some stage during their sporting careers....unless maybe all they play is lawn bowls - but who knows what those grannies carry around in their handbags!!

When I first started playing cricket, some players would sneak off for a ciggy.
When I was finishing my illustrious career they would sneak off for joints.
The world has changed.
No doubt Shaoib and Asif will appear in South Park soon

Sneak off for a joint? Rubbish, never saw any one sneak away while I've been playing, they just sit in the car next to the oval.
