Elliott just cruised through effortlessly to 100 off 114 balls. Harris looks to have the temperament that could see him consolidate his position in the team in both forms of the game. Lehmann guided the Redbacks to a very strong position. Then the customary collapse and just when all seemed lost Ryan Harris became the hero.

It was strange that Maher bowled the spinner for the last over. Thought he may have bowled Brant. I assume Hopes was named man of the match. He's another who might have high hopes for a tour to the Caribbean next year. The atmosphere was great as many came to the ground for the night session. Bottom beats top and the season is still alive!

Agreed. The atmosphere towards the end was quite subdued as it looked like we were going to throw it away. Dan Harris is in great form at the minute, and the 6 he hit in front of the Chappell stands was huge! The pitch was right over the members side, and it landed up by the walkway! If the pitch was 20m closer to that side, it would have been on the roof. Looked like it went straight up at first, but just kept going.

Great shot by Ryan Harris, much needed for our season, and his career, after some of the pies he bowled.

On a hot day, those fans up in the Sir Edwin Smith stand are brilliant.

Anyone who wasn't there missed out on a great match.

Yes there's nothing like walking down to the Oval after work and enjoying a great innings of cricket on a warm night. Almost thought about biting my nails to the quick but decided that nerves and butterflies would have to do until the last couple of overs when despair started to set in.

Maher was captaining very well I thought and it had me scratching my head when you consider the bowling resources he had left to bowl the last over. Clearly he must've thought we had no hope to make the perplexing decisions he did in the finishing overs.

Well done Redbacks, we supporters really needed it also. Euphoric is the only way I can describe it.

Looks like we're killing them this morning in the Pura. :D
