Ramnaresh Sarwan, Jerome Taylor and Denesh Ramdin have been demoted from the West Indies contract list while Kieron Pollard and Adrian Barath have been promoted to full deals. The fitness of Sarwan, a former captain, and Narsingh Deonarine was "deemed unsatisfactory" by the selectors while Taylor, the fast bowler, was not helped by his limited availability following a back injury

Allrounders Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard have not accepted the one-year central contracts offered to them by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), ESPNcricinfo has learnt.

The contracts, worth US$80,000, require the players to make themselves available for West Indies at all times, but Pollard in particular has already shown a reluctance to do so. In June, he turned down a place on the one-day leg of the West Indies A-team tour to England in favour of his deal with Somerset for the Friends Provident t20.

Zimbabwe have forfeited their Intercontinental Cup match against Scotland after the two sides couldn't agree a venue following Scotland's decision not tour the country and with the Zimbabwe board declining to use a neutral location.

And these guys want to be let back into International cricket...I think we would be better off with Scotland/Netherlands before them..(Sorry Dizzy)

Chris Gayle, the West Indies captain, has turned down a central contract with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). Gayle is the third prominent West Indies player to opt out of a central contract, after allrounders Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo did the same earlier this month.

The contracts on offer had required players to make themselves available for the West Indies team at all times, something that the three players - all of whom have forged prominent careers in domestic Twenty20 competitions including the IPL - were reluctant to do.

Grant Flower, the 39-year-old batsman, has made a shock international return more than six years after he last played for Zimbabwe, being named in the squads for the tour of South Africa next month.

In August, Flower had returned to Zimbabwe after six seasons with Essex, to be the batting coach of the national team and the player-coach of the Mashonaland Eagles franchise.
