Looks real good doesn't he!
Going to be interesting to see which 3 of Mohammed Abbas, Shaheen Afridi, Imran Khan or Naseem Shah Pakistan go with for the first test.

Serious talent for a 16yr old.

Lets hope he doesn't end up like their last 16 year old superstar, a very sad story.

Much better than teams being forced to contrive results, would mean batsmen would be exposed to better spinning conditions having fifth day pitches and would hopefully improve our overseas batting.

Would allow batsmen who are becoming increasingly inpatient due to t20 cricket the opportunity to build massive scores if they are good enough.

Just a thought anyway.

No point paying canteen staff an extra days wage to serve 6 pies, 4 buckets of chips and a dozen bottles of coke.

I like the tinkering of the rules to encourage a quicker scoring rate and to find a result, if anything I'd be looking at ways to score more premiership points with various incentives.

Not sure Bancroft would be getting a gig if he wasn't from WA.

One would think that Travvy is back in the team then. Why the hell did they have an Australia A match vs Pakistan as an audition for a spot?

Harris 16 & 20 overlooked.
Burns 0 & 11 well done son.

I'm going to say it, Shaun Marsh is a bit stiff here, there's going to be two very lucky blokes here, at a guess Neser and Pattinson will sit out, that means only one of Burns, Head or Bancroft will miss.

Unfortunately we'll flog them and the selectors will pat themselves on the back and say how well they got it right.

I knew Bancroft would get into the squad after making runs last night after being f**king gifted a game and because he's one of Langer's boys.

I like seeing Burns come back in but he's been average so far this season, Harris real stuff IMO.

Bancroft probably replaces Pucovski, who would have been selected in the squad until he declared his withdrawal due to mental health.

Yeah, exactly, let's replace a middle order batsman with an opener.

Yeah not sure why the love for Bancroft. Average first class record, average test record.

Skip to one minute in and the question is asked in regards to Bancroft, seems they like his flexibility to play at the top or in the middle order like he has in one day cricket.

"He has the ingredients to be a very good Test player, he just has to put the performance on the board when he is given that opportunity," national selector Trevor Hohns said today, adding that Bancroft will likely be the back-up batsman in the squad.
"Everything else about him is the sort of thing that Justin Langer and the selection panel want from a player.
"He's the ideal person to have in our squad. He's a hard worker. He was left out in England after a couple of Test matches, but he's had the bit between his teeth, he's worked very, very hard on his game and the improvement in his game is quite noticeable."

Would've been good if he said "Bancroft is very abrasive".

So with Burns opening it only leaves one spot which will be Bancroft or Head?

They've announced that Head will have a leadership role so there lies the answer perhaps?
