The selectors have destroyed any chance of us getting close to winning this tournament.

Ridiculous.

Easy win last night. Still dont like smith in the middle order, Finch coming in to open and Khawaja at 3 would make our lineup crazy good

Bowling looked much better too with zampa and hastings bowling well

Every innings Smith's position looks less and less secure. The dropping of Finch remains the hardest decision to comprehend. I'm picking him first at the moment to be honest. M. Marsh's batting isn't good enough and with Watson and Maxwell both bowling good overs we just don't need his bowling. Particularly when Faulkner is a better bat anyway and Hastings is handy.

Really good to see Zampa getting results. Only a short career, but some super promising figures to start with.

This is why Finch should of remained captain and have Smith not even playing T20. At the moment he's showing he's not really effective enough in this form of the game and we don't really need him anyway. Should of been given rest and save him for his duties in Test and ODI cricket.

Watson's has always been against the new ball, same with Finch. Khawaja is the test #3 and I think that spot suits him nicely in T20 with two hung ho openers. Finch in for Smith, Lynn in for Marsh. Oh wait.....

because watson cant play spin, and we need his bowling.

Watson
Finch (c)
Khawaja
Warner
Maxwell
Marsh
Faulkner
Nevill
Hastings
Zampa
NCN

Reckon that team looks so much better.

Yep this is the team I would go with aswell benny. It's not rocket science is it! But our selectors make it f**king hard.

They need to get Finch in the team FFS.

Dont mind it but id have Smith instead of Marsh. We have too many all-rounders/bowlers. There is 6 bowlers without Marsh, throw in Finch as the 7th in Indian conditions and it should be plenty. Make no mistake you will need 3 spinners to progress in this tournament and we dont have it.

Yeah smith instead of marsh could work too. Bat him at 5, and if we lose early wickets he can come in, otherwise send maxwell in

Get rid of marsh. Faulkner is a similar but way better bowler and he can't bat for shit! But the selectors love him. Why?

Can talk about the side that SHOULD be playing all we like, wont change a thing.

Watching the NZ v AUS game the other night.. gave me a thought - AUS selectors always select sides during summer that they think will sell tickets and put bums on seats i.e. Maxwell, Faulkner, Smith, NCN etc.. it appears this world cup squad was selected the same was instead of picking the best side to win it.

The upside to a failed WC campaign - interest in the format will decrease a little.. no one wants to tune in and see a second rate side.

hardly think its a second rate side.

With the exceptions of maybe finch and marsh, I think they have got the rest right, for once. (Though they did pick agar in the first game)

Surely Bangladeshs' CHOKE last night v India would have to go down as one of the worst in history?
2 needed off 3 balls with 4 wickets in hand and couldnt even tie the match.
2 slogs caught in the deep followed by a run out off the last ball trying to steal a bye to tie the scores. batsman run out by about a foot. Didnt even DIVE to make his ground. Would've surely made it if he did but hey, it was only a World Cup match, nothing really important. Lmao

One bloke I'll always remember as a wasted talent. The selectors seemed to take a decade to work out how they wanted to use him and so he spent that time changing his game to suit the role he was offered rather than knuckle down and work hard on one role. Not to mention the way his body kept breaking down because they wanted him to bowl 140. Still, while his test record isn't great he IS one of our greats in the shorter forms.

I don't see the Bangladesh game as a choke. Perhaps one bloke facing 6 dots in the last over with 1 to win, but they needed to hit the ball, the first two got out, which happens, while the third wicket was two new batsmen yet to face a ball. Dhoni was too quick. as for the dive, well, how often do you see a dive and the bat bounces and the guy is out? Six of one and half a dozen of the other on the dive.

99 was a choke. Allan Donald standing in the middle of the pitch without his bat was sheer panic. Not sure Mr Cronje had anything to do with it or not in the leadup, but no way (IMHO) was Klusener or Donald.
