Looking at the 2023 Schedule for Australia - If it’s been mentioned already I apologise for being late to the party….. I find a couple points interesting;

- Not a single international limited overs fixture scheduled in Australia for the entirety of 2023.

- If we make the Test Championship final I can’t wait to see what the hosts dish up pitch wise. That match will be critical preparation for The Ashes if we can make it of course.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

Dave Warner joining the foxtel/Kayo commentary team. Would this suggest he plans on retiring at the end of the Ashes series.

Looks like 3 changes to the team.

In Renshaw, Agar, Hazelwood

Out Boland, Green, Starc

Surprises me that we need to increase the batting depth

To me it suggests this is a dummy test run for the India series.

Wouldn't be surprised if by first ball tomorrow we see a wicket that takes a lot of spin.

Agreed, if the first two tests are anything to go by, all we need is 400 runs.

if we cant get 400 in two digs out of Warner, Khawaja, Labaschagne, Smith, Head and Carey we need rootin'
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yeah a little bit of a surprise for me.

I thought Agar was a chance, but I thought they might use him to replace Green (either at 6 or suffle carey up one and have Ashton at 7), so we still have 5 bowling options.
Bringing him in for Boland was a little bit left field for mine.

I've got no issues going with two spinners, espcially when it's looking towards a potential line up for india, but the thought behind that was always with Green as your third quick.

Going in with just Patty and Josh as your only quicks, and Marnus as potnetially the next in line to bowl seam up, seems strange.

I don't hate it, and am happy for the selectors to try things, especially given we have all but locked our spot in the final already, therefore the remaining tests are somewhat dead rubbers, but yeah, probably not the way I would have gone.

Perhpas it's their way of ensuring we finally get to a day 5, haven't had one yet this summer! (Mind you plenty of rain around in Sydney the next three days anyway).
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

Only really need 320 overs to be bowled for us to win, that’s the catch.

The Saffers are shot and will have no backbone except for Tony Cox and Chuck Norris.

Surely if our 5 bowlers include Agar and Labuschagne they can put up a fight.

And for SA the outs are de Bruyn (already gone home for the birth of his first child) and Ngidi, ins are Klassen and Harmer.
Radar in Sydney looks ok.
