Get the rrr over 6 quickly and the game will be a boring draw.

Realistically it is probably where the game was going to be at this stage, wickets in hand and a reasonable run rate to chase. I think Qld has the batting power to give it a crack, it could be an entertaining afternoon down there, I can't see them just laying down and doing nothing.

Which also means wickets could fall, giving SA a chance. 7 wickets is a few too many though IMO.

I think they will attack within reason and if they loose 1 or 2 wickets shut up shop and play the draw

Broad gone LBW to O'Brien padding up.

Get Hartley cheap and we are a chance.

Very slight chance.

Flood gates are opening, gotta love the negativity of some people! Mate given just 19 wickets had fallen in 3 days would you have preferred SA to play for the draw?

Not saying we should play for the draw but it was a very very generous target that was set.

A bit more luck like the Thigh Before Wicket and we might pull off a win here.

I hope so for pure amusement value! There will be a lot of blokes on here tucking into a very healthy serving of alphabet soup if that happens. Mind you most will probably be very happy with that dinner option if SA get up!

I would LOVE to be proven wrong mate.. 2 wickets in 2 balls now.. only 5 wickets to go!

Get Hartley in the next 15 overs and it is game over.

Well those two quick wickets have meant only one team looks to be playing to win. They need 153 off 25 and we need 5 wickets.

Only 11 overs left and still 5 wickets to get.

Pity it is ending up in a draw we were clearly the better side this game.

It brings up an interesting point that has been spoken about by CoverKing and Mal.

Are our pitches costing us a chance at maximum points?

ONLY 275 on the 1st day along with the fact SA dont have a QUALITY spinner or paceman have got more to do with it being a draw than the state of the pitch !!!

Maybe right there JJ, funny a few hours ago everyones going crazy that SA looked like losing and what a shit declaration, now people (and yes different ones) are complaining about us not getting results.

I'm just glad at this stage we are a hell of alot better as a cricket side than we have been in a number of years, be patient and the big results will come and looking at it not in the too far distant future

SA 7/636 in 168 overs
96 overs minumum to be bowled each day
That left SA 216 overs to bowl out QL twice
Thats 2 days play + 24 overs to take 20 wickets

So yes 275 was a tad slow on day 1[but SA batted very quickly to make up for it later on]
BUT
I think it is also fact that we had a road as a wicket and an inexperienced attack to take 20 wickets

All 3 factors were the cause of the draw

Very disappointing batting from Qld after a generous declaration.
Thought they would have a crack at the outright.
No risk no reward.
Where to for Cullen Bailey, on a 4th day wicket he has to make an impact with the ball.

3 games, 8 points.

Pretty good effort. 12 would have been better, but hey. I thought the declaration was a good try to get more points, especially against a relatively weak batting lineup like QLD have at the moment. Hope the skip doesn't try and pull that one against some of the stronger teams though.

At least there's a few points on the table in the early season instead of after Christmas, as seems to have been the pattern of late.

Bailey for me needss to stay in as he hass taken 6-7 wickets inthe two games he played. It best for him that he stays in develops his game with confidence. George or haberfield would make way for cleary.
