Im happy that the team is making runs, with the redbacks you can never be to picky about where the runs come from. Dizz is a fine allrounder and Harris did well also. At least the bowling attack looks better as well with 3 seamers. Ok Tait is in the side and that helps a fair bit but with Harris coming in at first change is a good move.

Gillespie is an outstanding cricketer and again today showed his worth. People often have the misconception that he just defends and has no other shots. Well he puts a very high price on his wicket and therefore plays within himself but when he plays shots they are all class. Just look at his double hundred against Bangladesh. Some quality cover drives in that. The thing that most batsmen could learn from him is to know your limitations and always play within those. If you don't you will not be successful. Perhaps Manou has been taking note

So right Rod, anyone that scores a double hundred, be it against a great side or a poor side has the knowledge and skill of the art of batting. I watched all of Dizzy's 200 and he did not play one shot out of the ordinary, as you said just plays within his limitations. Some guys over the years, the Hookes' Botham, etc etc could get away with playing outside of their limittations simply due to the fact they had such a great eye to hand co-ordination, most haven't got that, your points are spot on

Promising display by those 2 guys, but they need to continue it. One or 2 good efforts doesn't mean they can start being complacent again and dish up crap like they did last year.

Just another cool 99 from him now would be nice but seriously well done to the guy, has been copping it (and deserved it) from all corners of late, best way to answer the knockers is with the bat and so far he has done that
