First time that two left handers opened the bowling for Australia since 1973/74 when Tony Dell and Geoff Dymock opened against New Zealand.

TEA
AU 7/520 DEC on a tar pitch, cannot understand why a skipper 1-0 up in a series declares
WI O/69 [11]
DOWLIN 15*[33]
GAYLE 52*[34] sensational batting

WI should have been chasing close to 600 and starting thier innings by tea time
Are now 451 behind at tea time

Actually, I had a look at Google Earth and using the measuring tool, I think if it continued on its' way it would have been roughly 120m.

Awesome innings, I specifically love how he is going about it to chase 520 down as quickly as he can. (almost single handedly)

Then again, people also go on about getting out soon after a century instead of going on with it.

Bottom line is: Would you rather a 10-20 score, or 80-110?

Think the difference in the match is quite substantial. It has given the windies the impetus to be maybe 300 down instead of 400 down after day 2. Whilst australia are still definate favourites, it has given the windies a shout if one other batsman can get a big score

Interesting to note that four of the top six fastest 100s have been scored by West Indians: Richards, Gayle, Chanderpaul and Fredericks. The other two are from Australians: Gilchrist and Gregory.

aussies seem to be sending down alot of short ones at the moment and the windies handling them well. think they need to get it up there a bit more
