We need to get both Head and Pollard batting at the same time so at least one of them gets some bowling to their liking

Pollard is a spud....take your money and go home.

Pollard to open next game with Dunk imho

Give him a licences to spend the first 5 overs getting his eye knowing he will make up time quick if he gets going while Dunk is the aggressor

His probably to pea hearted to do this though

Dunk sunk to new lows, just missed a regulation ball standing back to Jordan, 4 byes, thats at least 11 byes tonight.
Next game Neser has to go and another keeper comes in, dont care which one it is as long as he only bats 7

Would i be right in saying that the so called ADELAIDE Strikers had only 2 South Australians in their team against Hobart?
Precise reason i have little interest in this garbage comp.
Watched a fair part of the game as had little better to do.
Strikers performance was insipid.
Why does anyone get upset when their team goes crap and loses?
The comp cant be taken seriously at all.
Most of the players are just joking and clowning around on the field
Its just like WWE, its just for entertainment, results are meaningless.

The Big Bash has only one positive.
It has seduced a new audience to the game in their droves which has been great for the game. I think?

All cricket lovers should rejoice in the success of the comp for that reason alone.
To get upset over a rag tag bunch of over paid and in quite a few cases over aged players that really represent nothing is simply just not worth it.

You can't have your big money recruit being a number 5 at absolute highest bat and only being a very part time bowler.

Pollard just doesn't cut it as the big recruit

It has to be someone who can go out and win you a game either the bat or ball, not someone who just comes in and capitalises on others work

The biggest flaw of the Stinkers (spelling intended ;) )this year is the lack of quality spinners in the side.....

Probably should also look for a replacement Brad Hodge....he ain't going to be around forever!

First couple of games i thought the fielding was below the standard it should be - and a lot lower than last year.

Definitely lack a front liner spinner such as Rashid, but i do like that O'Conner - he's got potential, does lack experience though as shown last night when under the pump tried to bowl quick flat wrong un's and into Paines arc.

Dunk's keeping is average, and Pollard looks like he's been eating sheep and is offering little.

pollard used to be a matchwinner. but now looks slow

dunk almost cost us last night with his keeping. let through about 12 byes which may had been the difference if we had a few more on the board.

we had rashid and holland lined up as our spinners and both couldnt play so that has hurt us a lot. though our pace bowlers besides stanlake all look like medium pies

Even at his best im not sure Pollard was an out and out match winner. Yes he would come in at times and hit some crucial runs at the end of an innings to get us a tough score but even then generally someone in the top 4 had to have a good innings for Pollard to be able to add the icing on the cake.

Judging from the commentators comments last night Pollards attitude seems like it stinks, always rocks up to training in his trainers so he doesnt have to bowl (thats shit from your expensive star import)

Give me a McCullum, Ian Bell, Pieterson, Sangakarra any day of the week.

yeah even someone like hodge is showing him up in terms of professionalism and thats a 42 year old.

Pollard is a great fielder too though, and that cant be underestimated.

But surely 6-8 are almost redundant in this format

The real person who cost us that game last night was Brad Hodge. I'm not trying to deflect well deserved criticism away from Pollard like I said after our first game he looks out of shape and worse totally disinterested but the game has passed Hodge by his eye has gone and when you're chewing up so many deliveries only going at a run ball he needs to be batting lower down the order.

In reality both need to be shown the door. Pollard for being a fat lazy prick and Hodge for doing what he's always done batting for himself first and team second.

I think the slow batting from Hodge and Head was more to do with having zero confidence in the longest tail in the bbl

Agreed. After 12 overs we had Hodge (11 off 18) and Head (16 off 22) at the crease.
Neither had any confidence whatsoever that we could bat our overs out if they fell so basically they batted extremely conservatively in the overs 8-12 range.

I am not sure why Dizzy continues to pick 7 bowling options. 6 is more than enough.
Get another bat in the side, preferably one that could keep in stead of Dunk.

I'd line up as follows:
Dunk
Weatherald
Dean / Kelvin Smith
Head
Hodge
Pollard
Carey / Ludeman (wk)
Jordan
Laughlin
Stanlake
O'Connor / Richardson

U/a: Rashid, Holland
Spares: Agar, Lehmann
Do not pick: Neser, Simmons
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!
