If I could be anywhere in the world in next couple of weeks, I would love to be at the MCG the moment Warnie snares his 700th wicket. It will be awesome.

This from an English mate:

"As I said when the bunch of clowns went over 5 - 0 - no one believed me, bet your all wishing you could get the odds I did for 5-0 now don't you !

We are officially not very good, I may live to see us win them back one day, but I don't think I'll be this side of 60 !

Why do we as a national (government) award mediocracy so much - We win the Rugby World Cup once - they ALL get MBE's

We win the Ashes for the 1st time in 18 yeras - they all get MBE's -

I think I'm right in saying that Aussies being part of the Commonwealth are entiltled to MBE's OBE's and CBE's, well if so why haven't a team that have thrashed the world for 18 YEARS NOT 18 WEEKS been honoured with such awards - it stinks, they are not worth the paper they are written on - Sir Steve Redgrave - great, a guy who has been at the top of his sport for 16 years - worth every bit of it, and then you hear that Beckham may be Knighted - for what ? Services to being sent off against Argentina ? Services to only having one foot ? Services to the English language ? Services to Gucci and Prada or Servicing his dum ass wife ?

Until our government realises that competetive sport is not bad for you as life is competetive we will never improve. Whilst schools are rewarded on the number of A's B's & C's their students achieve they will always the PE and & Games timetables down to a minimum in order to achieve the results. God I wish my Great Great Grandad had stolen some bread !"

That was a great read Matt and so damn true! Even Collingwood got an OBE or MBE or something and he only played the 5th test! I cant remember any ticketape parades when we won the ashes either and open buses through the cities.
