He and Starc play the fifth test for Bird and Cummins

The best thing for Sayers has been that he was not selected for this match, has not had to bowl on this pitch.

Bird now will probably never play a Test again, while Sayers will now be next in line, hopefully play at SCG, then get a chance in South Africa (which will be massive loss for Redbacks!).

Hope you are right but the Aussie selectors really have no idea, probably go for someone like Tye from WA

Mitch Marsh into the attack, trying to get him a wicket

It's officially a road, James anderson has lasted 15 balls so far :D then again only against Bird and M. Marsh

I don’t reckon he could dismiss you or I he’s that sh*t!

The Aussies deserve this from the Poms.
All those shots they dragged back onto the stumps were piss weak dismissals.

The saddest part of the day will be that Cook’s name will now displace the great Viv from the Percy Beames bar at the MCG

been saying for ages our batting deficiencies get hidden alot because we get one or two that get big 100's, we have too many that get 15-30 regularly, be interested to see what happens if Bancroft, Usman and M Marsh fail in the 2nd dig here if they are retained

Usman has to go.
I can’t see why he flies under the radar and other people get mentioned.

I’d dropped him for the 5th Test regardless of his 2nd innings dig.

Representing the highest ever score by an international at the ground?

Can't begrudge this though. He has batted superbly, albeit 3 tests too late!

There should be an inquest into match fixing after today's performance. Not only did we field poorly but it bowling tactics against the trail were deplorable.

Then when it wasn't working we tried to bowl shorter and faster.

Anyone able to attack the stumps at all? A Yorker perhaps?

Then when bowling short with one slip we leave third man vacant.

Just a strange day of cricket.

I was thinking earlier if Pakistan had trotted out what we did today people would be asking questions.

Smith must have had Cook to make a double... dropped him twice!

I still say you can't blame him for thinking Stan Darsh would induce anything but laughter from a batsman.

The ball definitely hit the ground at some point IMO and I thought not out for sure, strange that the umpire called it out before going to the third umpire. Broad very unlucky.
