Tait Selected, Dizzy Shafted

First Class Cricket Talk (International and State)

I thought it was funny in a game last year, a bloke in our team walked past Cosgrove and on the popping crease dropped an 'Allens Snakes alive' so he would see it when he faced up next ball.
Brought many a laughs to the cordon, but not to him!!

No one could accuse former Australian fast bowler Jeff Thompson of being parochial when it comes to who he thinks should be playing for Australia. At a recent sportsman's night in the Brisbane suburb of Ipswich (which bear in mind is Shane Watson's home town) he said -

" Shane Watson is not an all-rounders arsehole. He bats OK but his bowling is way below par at the top level"
On Mitchell Johnson - "Seriously, are they (Watson and Johnson) taking wickets? In my day you got picked for Australia for taking wickets, you didn't get picked on some selector thinking: I think this guy might be able to play"
On Shaun Tait - "He should be playing, he takes wickets"
On Mark Cosgrove - "He should have been in the Australian one day side six months ago". Think his time frame might be slightly out but I know what he's getting at.

Good old Thommo. A rare personality amongst a group of robots.

He also said "Watson allows batsmen to play in"

Stuart Clarke's selection is baffling, he just doesn't even look like a cricketer, snoozer....

Open the other eye panter. Cosgrove is seriously bulky and from I saw in the ING final he is bigger than Boof or even Tubby Taylor was. Perhaps you feel Red is a colour that slims. As for dominating world cricket, he has to dominate domestic cricket first and the batsman who has been doing that in the last two years is Jaques and he hasn't set the world on fire yet at international level. If Cosgrove doesn't have a weight issue..why didn't the Jellybacks play him sooner as you blokes have virtually no batting to speak of?

regards,

REB

no doubting cosy is a fatty but he is a gun with the bat and he will have the weight down to reasonable levels in no time if desired by the ACB

Can you Adam and Eve it?

Tait injures his back in the nets in South Africa and won't tour Bangladesh!
