Play some shots!!!!!!!

They have ALL day to make runs, there is no rush

The problem is not with the amount of time but the confidence it gives the opposition bowlers. They have no pressure on them as they aren't going for runs. The fielding side gets confidence as they feel as though they are right on top. Conversely the batting side feels like they are being bogged down and the bowlers are on top.

It's positive mindset versus negative mindset. You don't need to be hitting boundaries or playing lots of big strokes but just turn the strike over with singles. There would be plenty of gaps with attacking fields set early so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Its not as easy as you think. we are what 12 overs into a 90 odd over day so a slow start run wise isnt a bad thing.... as long as long as that wicket tally stays low. Also some credit should go to the bowlers as they bowled well wednesday night and probably are bowling well today

I agree with this to a point but the batsmen are putting a bit too much pressure on themselves by not turning over the strike thus allowing the bowlers to settle into bowling at the one batsman. End result a stupid single is attempted and a run out results. Plant and to a lesser extent Harris need to show a bit more intent. Particualrly Plant who has a good defence and temperment but just needs to be more positive.

Good to see. Harris has been in good form early on in the season. It's time for him to convert a start into a big hundred. No better time than today :D

That's better get a move on!!!
Plant is obviously playing to instructions.
He must be a more positive batsman playing for glenelg to produce the numbers he has over the years.
Would still like to see Cossie in that top order..
I'd go - Harris, Klinger, Khan, Cossie, Ferguson, Manou, O'Brien
Quite like O'Brien could be a good get...

When you have Manou at 6 it is a real worry. I know he did alright last season but he is not a top 6 batsman.

Who is at 7 O'Brien is it? Manou is kidding himself batting at 6, yes he did alrite at 7 last year but overall he has struggled, Cleary can bat and opens for his district side..But hopefully Khan makes the tail not even bat and then theres nothing to worry about lol

What is the condition of the pitch? i noticed that hauritz bowled the 8th over of the day, its only day one! Surely a spinner shouldnt be bowling that early on in a shield game

Fair enough then, if theres no spin just a lack of quality pace bowlers in there side. O'Keefe opening the one dayers- what game did he open?? who is out and wickets for NSW? i cant seem to open the scorecard on any site
