Katich is a player in great form right now, but I'm not sure he's the class of the other 3 guys in the poll so I expect when we have this conversation in 12-24 months time he'll be struggling if he's still in the side.

Katich
Jacques (or North if inj)
Ponting
Hussey
Clarke
Hopes (or symonds)
Haddin
Johnson
X.Doherty
Hilfenhaus
Tait

Hauritz
Bracken (this fella really needs to get bak in the baggy green!)
Hodge
Hughes
Warner(these 5 to fill gaps due to injuries)

(absence of hayden, clark, siddle) to unavailability
omissions: Mcdonald

How could you possibly suggest picking Warner in the Test side? It astounds me how carried away people can get with a guy hitting a couple of big sixes.

we need some fiery stroke players, stops the attacking fields when someone dangerous like warner comes into bat.

Warner is nowhere near ready for test cricket. Look at what happened in the second 20-20.

I'm doubtful he's ready even for ODI's

These International teams & bowlers are a cut above our State attacks and they'll nail inexperienced guys like Warner to the wall, once they have time to work them out. Just like I think they'll work over Phil Hughes if he's played too early. But at least Phil Hughes has some runs on the board at 1st class level.

Surely Mike Hussey would be close, he is in worse form than Hayden was!!
