Brad Haddin has come out and said Mitch Johnson's form isn't a worry to the Australians. Really? Then again, if I were Brad Haddin, I'd be more worried about my keeping than Mitch Johnson.

If the Aussies aren't worried about Johnson's bowling then may I ask what it would take before they start getting a little concerned?

If they select Johnson again for this Test and he serves up the crap he has in the first 2 Tests, then the Ashes are half way home to England. Even the Poms are calling for Johnson to play ... that's gotta tell us something :)

For once, I agree with Hawk. Johnson doesn't deserve a spot on current form and neither does Hughes.

My side

The Kat
Mr Cricket
Punter
Pup
North
Watson
Iron Gloves
Horrie
Siddle
Clark
The Hilf
12th Ronald McDonald

The side they'll play

The Kat
Hughes
Punter
Mr Cricket
Pup
North
Iron Gloves
Johnson
Siddle
Clark
The Hilf
12th Horrie

...why, cos it's the worst possible side they can pick.

Agree.

The only problem is that neither Watt0 or Ronnie have that average.

Way to harsh on Hughes REB he has had 3 innings in the two tests so far he is 20 FFS and will have a couple of down test matches but he will no doubt make some runs this series and show us all why he is in our test side. He deserves his spot most definetely at this stage, Hussey can't make a run at 4 he is no hope of making one opening.

Hughes deseves a spot at least as much if not more than Hussey REB. As for having Hussey open you are surely taking the pi55?

Great side REB. Personally though, I would swap Watson for McDonald, for a couple of reasons. One, I think he will be the perfect fourth seamer - can move it a little and will keep it tight. Watson, I haven't watched bowl for a while so not sure how well he could keep the runs down.
Two, McDonald won't go down with an injury on Day 1 and leave us in the 5hit.

I agree Watson has it over McDonald when it comes to batting, but seriously if we are relying on runs coming from Watson or McDonald to get us home, then we are already in big trouble.

As you all know gentlemen, I always back the Bluebagger but right now Hughes is a walking wicket. I accept that Hussey has struggled but we are VERY light on for opening options in this squad. I reckon an SOS to Rogers should probably be on the cards. We might hurt Hughes more by playing him...I have had severe doubts about the young fella ever since Worchester. If he gets selected I'd like him to prove me wrong and score a MASSIVE ton. Likewise anyone who wears Baggy Green that I have bagged over the years. It's all about beating the bloody smug Pommy bastards.

No McDonald will stay fit and leave us in the 5hit. Watson is miles ahead of him as a Cricketer.

I strongly disagree. He is only ahead of him when it comes to batting and as I previously stated, IF we are relying on the allrounder to score our runs, then we are in big, big trouble. Couple that with the fact that Watson is likely to snap in half at any minute of a Test leaving us a batsman down - I'd take McDonald any day.

In fairness to Hussey, he top scored in the first innings and was given out incorrectly in the second of the 2nd test. While this does not excuse his form for the last 6 months he is certainly showing signs of improvement IMO.

I think that his effort in the last test is about all that is saving him for the Third Test

ok lets pick out one innings  . Over the last 12 months he has really struggled to make a run at 4 and people want to promote him to the opening position to drop Hughes who despite 3 poor innings so far this series has done well so far in his short test career.

I couldn't believe Haddins comments today.
He must be living on a different planet if he thinks people are making too much of Johnsons form.

No way Johnson gets dropped. He just needs a slight adjustment with his action.
