Yes but hughes (major technique issues) and ponting and hussey (past it) need to go back to domestic or retire.....haddin is just playing really stupid shots, its evident that when he knuckles down (55 in SA and 80 at the gabba) that if he plays smart he can score runs, far easier problems to fix.

Well he should fix it so it never happens - his reckless shot just greatly contributed to an aussie loss.

100% agree, the shots he plays when we need an innings out of him are disgraceful.....but toning down aggressiveness takes an innings, not a spell in domestic cricket. IMO there is bigger issues with the complete inability to get runs out of our top 6 than there is with our keeper trying to smash a bowler......our top 6 need changing before haddin.

Mitch marsh isn't a test number 6 170 runs at 27 this season batting on the waca this year that has been very flat. Christian is
Every straight in Australia in front Of him. even Luke butterworth has taken more wickets and made more runs

Australia V India

Postby the joker » Mon Dec 12, 2011 3:45 pm

The Indian batting order and Watson not being able to bowl will propably help Christian receive his first baggy green on boxing day. With the likes of tendulker, laxman, dravid and sehwag. The selectors will want a 5th bowling option rather than hussey
So I think the 12 will be
Watson
Warner
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Christian
Haddin
Siddle
Stark/Harris if he is fit
Pattinson
Lyon
S Marsh 12th

Cowan should have been in the Test Team 12 months ago. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they stick with Hughes.

I'd argue Haddin got VERY lucky in South Africa for his 55 and it had less to do with 'kunckling down' than it did luck.

Would Trent Copeland be any chance to come in for Starc if Harris is not fit?

Actually like it a lot. Just feel the bowling is a bit week though, with Christo in as a bowler, and no Watson to tie up an end.

Hope not. 125kph powerpuffs don't get enough wickets.

Is Bollinger fit?

I can't see the selectors making big changes considering there is no more SS till the end of the Big Bash.

I am not sold on Christians bowling, tends to go for a few runs.

Assuming no injury players returning, I expect the following:

Warner
Khawaja
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Christian
Haddin
Siddle
Starc
Pattinson
Lyon

The selectors would have balls with:
Warner
Maddinson
Khawaja
Clarke
Ponting
Hussey
Christian
Wade
Siddle
Pattinson
Lyon

If a few injured players return, I would love:
Watson
Warner
Marsh
Khawaja
Clarke
Hussey
Haddin
Christian
Siddle
Pattinson
Lyon
