GAGF.

It's more than talk, it's happening from the Ashes onwards, it's been endorsed by the ICC.

Great idea.

I always found it difficult to remember the names of the 4 bowlers we had playing, or the two batsmen in the middle or indeed the one wicket keeper. Going to be so much easier to remember now.

At least if the Marsh brothers play again we’ll know who the dumber one is...........

Or will we

Womens Ashes
3rd One day game won by Australia
AU 7/269
EG 75
Australia has won all 3 one day games

EP RECORD
Ellyse Perry took 7/22,
That means Elysse now has the best figures, in more ways than one, of all Australian bowlers in one day games

A pretty decent lineup for a second XI. I can almost see how they failed to include one of the batsmen who scored a century in our most recent test.

Actually a quality line up! This would probably beat some test sides.

You're referring to Joe Burns obviously? He wasn't initially picked in the squad with the selectors wanting him to concentrate on playing for Lancashire, he played one match then came home due to fatigue. Last I read he was cleared to play cricket a week ago and was added to the Aus A squad. So I'm assuming he will play a 4 day game some stage.

Good to see him back and bowling well. He's a genuine option for the Ashes and at worst will keep Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood honest. Always need a decent back up quick in a 5 test series.

He'll be broken by the 2nd test.

That's ok, so long as he wins us the first test.

Without playing I should’ve added.
He could’ve been anything, I love his attack on the game

Aust A in reply 0/203

Burns subbed in for Wade obviously and Neser in for Marsh.

Sadly a start like that for the Aussies could hinder the opportunities of the middle order to press their claims.

It didn't bowled out for 373 centuries to Burns and Harris, only other batsman to pass 20 was Head with 34

Aussie A went through the Sussex lineup in extra quick time knocking them over for 120

wickets shared between all the bowlers bar Hazelwood who didnt get a wicket this game

Aussie A need 10 to win tonight

The 25 players listed for the Aus v Aus A clash doesnt include Stoinis or Maxwell with Langer saying both would be very unhappy with their OD performances. Fair and honest whack that.

I see Warne and Steve Waugh finally agree on something; Alex Carey as a specialist bat in the Ashes. I would agree also.. I cant see a better #6 atm.
I think the biggest decision to be made is Burns Harris or Bancroft...who will partner Warner. Burns prob gets the job as we have so few right handers in our lineup.
Then khawaja smith head carey paine cummins patterson starc and hazelwood... but lyon will probably play in place of one of the quicks.

Squad: Cameron Bancroft, Jackson Bird, Joe Burns, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Peter Handscomb, Marcus Harris, Josh Hazlewood, Jon Holland, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Michael Neser, Tim Paine, Kurtis Patterson, James Pattinson, Will Pucovski, Peter Siddle, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Chris Tremain, Matthew Wade, David Warner

Obviously with this initial squad there's lots of possible combinations that the selectors can possibly go with for the Ashes squad and the 11 for the first test. I can't see them going with Carey as a specialist batsman, I think Kurtis Patterson will be the sixth batsman picked or Marsh if they want an allrounder but I think they should go with a batsman at number 6. If Paine has a bad couple of performances in the first two tests then Carey should come in.

I still believe we 'Out-bat' England in terms of quality, talent and depth but it's the Anderson/Broad factor that is the main difference between winning and losing.

At the moment I can see them going-
Warner
Burns
Khawaja
Smith
Head
Patterson
Paine
Cummins
Starc
Lyon
Hazlewood
