why should skewes be in the od team to replace borgas- ghe dropped 3 pretty easy catches, fielding is a key part of the one day game and his grade form has hardly been setting the world alight.

why have you highlighted rimmingtons 5 wickets a s a reason to play only batters- rimmington is a bowler

manou cant open the batting for a simple reason- he keeps getting out

d harris wouldnt have a made a better fist of it opening teh batting as he scores very slowly

I saw that one on a news break earlier today. Wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry. Coach and captain need to slam all three of their heads into the ground then ask for their SACA uniforms to be returned - at least they won't need to be washed.

i dont think bowlers are useless in 20/20, i think just the South Australian ones are...

I do think you need the options, sure the part timers may do well, but when they are the only option they are to easy to take advantage of. Vic pace bowlers bowled well, a good mix of bouncers and the like, I think our bowlers were just crap

As for playing 11 batters, well i dont think that would ever be needed, in 20 overs you shouldn't ever use more than 6 or so in the first 17, after that 7-11 might be needed, but by that stage its pretty much swing and there are plently of bowlers that are quite capable of winding up.

What i was thinking of last night was, do you need a wicket keeper? There certainly is no reason to play a specialist keeper like manou, much better options would be deitz (although not that great a slogger) or any guy in the SA squad who kept at grade level for a bit. I mean did manou take more than 5 deliveries last night?

Def need a proper keeper. Firstly there are always a lot of run out opportunities, so you need a good keeper to be able to take the throws that bounce 50cm in front of the stumps cleanly and take off the bails. Secondly, a proper keeper can keep up to the stumps, as Manou and Deitz do quite a lot, more than any other keepers ive seen.

While on the subject of keepers, Manou and Deitz chase a lot of balls in the field, on many occasions when there is a fielder there already. I wonder if this is something they are told to do. If so, its strange, because the keeper is the best person to take the ball at the stumps, and the fielders have the more accurate throw, as they aren't wearing a sweaty inner glove.

Well Dizzy won't be playing. Rofe isn't that menacing although for a non cricketer it could be a bit daunting

Andrew Johns' brother Matthew aka 'Reg Reagan' might come out & "Bring back the Biff!" to the Cricket pitch!
Haven't seen that since Merv Hughes & Warnie's dummy spit at South African spectators coupla years back...
Or the infamous stoush between Dennis Lillee & Javed Miandad... Great Days! :D

Rofe gets smashed all over the place? Damn, don't know what games I was going to when he was playing because he was always very economical. Had the odd game where he would cop it, but at his pace, thats going to happen. Id have him in ahead of Putland and Kelly. Cleary should be in the team ahead of Ryan Harris.

In Pura games I totally agree very economical but in the OD games first class batsmen find it very easy to work him around the field thus not creating pressure. he averages 8 runs more per wicket more than Dizzy and a strike rate of 49 which is greater than both Dizzy and Ryan Harris
