Rebecca Wilson throws her 10c in on Shane Watson

First Class Cricket Talk (International and State)

Actually didn't mind Wilson years ago when she was on TV on "the Fat" but her article on Saturday, like most of her articles, was an absolute load of garbage and appears to come from someone who has little idea about cricket at all.

This is the annoying trend in sports journalism, and one of the reasons I don't read articles in newspapers. In years gone by, sporting articles were written by former athletes who knew something about the sport, and they were based on fact.

These days, articles are based on opinion, which wouldn't be so bad if the opinion came from someone who knew their sport. However, a lot of people who wouldn't know a bat from a ball are paid big money to pass opinions on something they know nothing about .. and it shows.

I haven't read an article in a newspaper in years. I prefer to know what's really going on.

The "learn to fu***n bowl you lair" comment is a bit harsh but the "FFS get a haircut" is probably not harsh enough.

What's Bracken's hair got to do with anything? All I care about is how the ball comes out of the hand. If he wants to wear his hair long, what's it got to do with anyone else? And imagine that bush pig Rebecca Wilson feeling she has the right to comment on other peoples' appearance?

What's his hair got to do with anything? Well he looks like a f*cking idiot. If he isn't performing really well it draws extra attention to him cos he looks like he should be playing in the women's team not the men's. It would be like Johnny Haysman walking around wearing just jocks and gumboots and expecting people not to look at him.

Would it upset you terribly if Bracken thought you looked like f*cking idiot? I doubt it, so why would he care what others think of his appearance? And more to the point, why should he do anything about it?

Last time I checked, people still had the right to express themselves with whatever hairstyle they wish to have. He's a cricketer, and all that matters is how he plays his cricket. If he were a male model or an actor, then it may be different.

RW or Miss Stupid heres another dumb quote from her :

##########################################################
Since that great day at the SCG when we saw the backs of Glenn Mcgrath, Shane
Warne and Justin Langer for the last time in a test match, the team has been playing
like a bunch of leaderless schoolboys with absolutely no direction or apparent desire to win.
###########################################################

You idiot :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:
Justin LANGER does not play in the o/d team
Shane WARNE has not played for years[we won a world cup without him]
We are not leaderless we have the same skipper PONTING.

RW is a frontrunning jouno who is reporting on the woes of the team on the back of
5 losses in a row.
What about the previous 6 games which we won 5-1 and finished top of the 3 team series.
Were we leaderless then :?:

A lesson for Miss stupid
---------------------------

We are losing through injuries and unavailabilty of players like
SYMONDS/LEE/PONTING/GILCHRIST /CLARKE
Not the retirement of LANGER/WARNE or Don BRADMAN.

Ironically at about the time he grew his hair longer he went from Nathan Nobody
to Nathan BRACKEN a star bowler in o/d international cricket.
But dont tell Rebecca.

I'm sure he couldn't care less about what i think of his appearance i am just making the point that when you have a look that stands out like Bracken does it draws extra attention to him especially if he isn't performing well.

PS - AH i do look like a f*cking idiot but that's not something i have any control over

Hahaha!!! Fair enough RR, good comeback. Whilst on the subject of long haired fast bowlers, I guess it doesn't bother me because I have memories of a young Dennis Lillee with the long black hair and the cricket bat medallion flying around as he pounded in to bowl. It was the most breathtaking sight in world cricket as the batsman anticipated yet another Lillee thunderbolt. I've often wondered exactly how quick Lillee bowled in those early days before he injured his back. He was very sharp.

Good point AH. I liken it to guys who wear white boots in footy (granted they are more common now than anything else). If you draw attention to yourself you better perform or else you are sure to cop it. Lillee could and did perform whereas Bracken (while a fine bowler) has had a couple of poor performances of late. For what it's worth i expect him to bounce back and have a very good World Cup. He is much much better than he showed in New Zealand.

I Wonder what Wilson thought of a certain ponytailed fast bowler
who went on to take 230 odd wickets at about 25 and still plays for SA

For one Dizzy could back it up. Secondly when he went with the mullet he was quite clearly taking the piss. Yes he started as a young guy with a pony tail i know but there is a big difference to Bracken who obviously thinks his hair looks good  Maybe it is a good look though. Who am i too judge.

mal wrote:Rebecca Wilson on Nathan Bracken

" Nathan Bracken lacks hunger and plays like a club cricketer in
bad need of a haircut."

Just picked on one of the most productive one day bowlers Australia has owned.
Im sure his bunnys SHEWAG and LARA would disagree with the Miss stupid.

" Bracken bowled the last over on Tuesday night, with the Kiwis needing nine runs to win
He allowed the batsman score a six and a four of the first 2 balls of the over."

Well Miss stupid needs to report the truth not lies
NZ needed 7 to win off the last over not 9
BRACKEN finished with 1/43 off 9.3 overs [I thought he bowled 3 balls not 2 ???}
Yeah 43 runs on a Primary school ground is a good effort Miss stupid

Then this one :

" Five Australian bowlers-Johnson,Bracken,Watson,Hogg,and Tait- could not
earn a game in an Ashes Test Match "

Well Miss Stupid we are talking about the one day team not a test team.

" I could play Shane Watson and score runs."

A stupid statement by Miss Stupid.

" Watson is an over-rated cricketer whose selection bamboozles many punters
who have watched him on the fringes of Australian teams for many seasons"

I will leave that one to three impartial safooty posters ROD ROOSTER PUNK AND SYD-DOG.
