Cheating Indians? Cowan should have been out, would have felt it on the glove, and didn't walk. If the Indians appeal for something stupid, then it can be given not out, but when you're out, you're out... Cowan, gtfo.

You cant be serious

The bloke copped two absolute shockers and then you expect him to walk with a small one on the glove.

NO CHANCE!!!!

The blokes career is on the line, i hope Cowan makes them pay.

Absolutely. I'd be spewing if he walked after the barry crockers he's copped.

mal wrote:WARNER
Its remarkable Warner plays his shots and gets accolade after accolade
I imagine this IF it happened
Warner plays a shot and gets out for less than 10
This is what I imagined
One or more posters calling him a 20/20 dud
He was about 2 more failures away from getting the snipers active
But this guy is a star, I hope he never plays any different, hes already become a freakish batsman

MARSH
Now I ask
Shaun Marsh played 2 ambitious shots to get out last test
What was said
He was in 20/20 mode , and not ready
How about he played 2 poor shots
Marshy is loose against good new ball bowlers, and is a dead set middle order player in my opinion
But his nature is IF he gets going he does cash in

NIGHTWATCHMAN
According to the C9 team , Siddle was padded up as a night watchman
On recent form, I would have thought Marsh should have been the night watchman ...

INDIA
Ive got my wish
Ive wanted a Test series involving these over rated Indian batters to be played on zing pitches
Tendulkar has stood up
But his mates Sheilawag, Drearyvid and Laxativeman have been missing in action by their standards

STARC
Bowls too well at times, too much movement in the air and the pitch at times
I think of he gets a bag of wickets soon, he will be a good test bowler
He needs to do it 2nd dig because of 4 reasons
Cummins, Pattinson, Lyon and Adelaide Oval

It's doesn't matter how many runs Barney makes teeball is still complete bulltish.

No batsman should walk. When you get given out and the fielding side know it wasn't they don't call you back. Your jobs to score, let the umpires make the decisions.

Exacty right, it is the responsibility of the umpire to give you out. simple as that. The cricket gods owed Cowan one after the shit he has copped previously.

Brillant counter attack last night, actually it was bat shit crazy really. Warner just needs to find some consistancy with his scores, he has played 3 or so tests with 5 innings and has 2 100's a 37 then nothings. But I guess the way he plays this is easier said then done. Either way I enjoyed it last night, hopefully he knuckles down today for a big score with Cowan and we look at a total of 500+ again.

On the Indian batsmen, Dravid seems to be missing the ball alot these days. One would think he would be calling time on his career at some stage soon. He played well in England, but it seems it might just be beyond him now.

Sehwag plays only one way and looks half the man when he doesnt play his natural game.

Laxman is the king of the flat track bullies, I have always said this and still maintain this.

Tendulkar is still there man but for how much longer? He stood up in England as well to some degree, and here he has been a handful and played well here, but like always the indians look to him to provide the answers. Seriously after he calls time there will be some lean periods ahead.

The LBW wasnt out and the other wicket was No. 11!

And even then thats still about on par with what Lyon has done.

Back to being serious, Lyon versus Starc.

What we saw with four quicks was a well-executed plan.

Four bowlers only. No nearing-lunch tripe from Hussey, four bowlers, three did a great job.

If what Starc produced was the best he can do, then I won't complain, because it was part of a good team effort.

Interesting. It seems what we differ on is what is the best way forward for him, either that or you don't think any of the current spinners are good enough to wear the Baggy Green.

regards,

REB

Yeah a combination of both. I honestly think Lyon is the best spinner in Aus and comfortably to but, against the Indians on pitches that havent favoured the spinners i think your setting him up to fail. Yes experience can be gained but he could also be using to the time to develop his own bowling. Imho i think his probably one to two deliveries away from being a world class act against the better test nations, England, SAF on a regular basis.

If Adelaide looks like its going to be a big turner i would have him straight back in but anything less than a big turner and i would stick with the four pace attack. (against the Indians only)

It snot what Lyon would have taken or what Starc did take
It was a message for the Indians that there is no relief, 3 quicks cleaned em up in tests 1 + 2, and now there is 4

Starc has not taken a bag of wickets [yet]
But did manage to hit Mccullum and Ryder in the helmets when he played v NZ
No doubt the Indians are aware of that

Even though the contest is all bar over
There is still gunna be some anxious batsman

Cowan needs a ton to keep Watto in the wilderness
Marsh needs a big score to impress Rod Roostar
Ponting needs another good innings so Dutchy can tell us all
Clarke needs 300+ becoz he has said in the press this week batting in Perth is easier than the SCG
Hussey needs another good innings to keep Watto in the wilderness
Haddin needs a big score otherwise Victorias SS chances will diminish.....

well the LBW was out - its the indians own fault as they dont want the DRS

and yes it may have been the no 11, but i didnt see Lyon troubling the indians at all with his spinners. so I agree that starc has done a lot more then lyon has done. Lyon really struggled to hold down one end and keep the pressure on.

Lyon will be better against other nations who struggle v spin - the indians are the best at playing spin - look at what they did to Warney on his debut........
