If we bowled these lines and lengths in the 3rd test we would have gotten thr last 3 wickets and been 3-0 up.

Hazlewood takes a fair bit of tap but knocks over Wood to finish the session.
This is the first time England has scored 500+ against Australia since the 2011 Sydney test match. It's also the first time they've scored 500+ in an Ashes test match at home since 1985.
122 runs from 24 overs in that session, the poor over rate continues.

We sound a lot like the Poms on here, I admire them for the way they challenge us with their tactics. We are the hunted and we have too many easy test series on our home soil, we need these challenges to not be complacent.

I think it’s a wake up call to where we’re at, obviously we’re going to honour Warner’s farewell match but we need to be better at travelling.

I don’t think the selectors erred by not picking a specialised spinner, we failed with the bat, our batters were complacent thinking that they’ve scored their average so it’s time to take risks, we’ve been sucked in to bazball but I think it’s great for the game.

We were blessed with the great captains like Waugh, Ponting and Clarke who won matches off their own bat or decision making, we have the talent now but it’s all in their head, we have the best 11 cricketers in the country playing for us, Warner could be an exception but I struggle to find a better opening option

Got away with one there, restricting England to a paltry 592.

Why ask the non-striker? He doesn't know whether you've hit it.

another pee poor performance by our bowlers

Lets keep banging them in short outside off stump with 5 on the boundary

FFS

Once again England show how it is done, full length or just short of a length at the stumps anything shorter angled at the body, surprise surprise who would have though that type of bowling would get wickets

leaving 150 runs out there in our first dig has cost us this test, our top order just dont know how to stay in ffs....

Yep, just seem devoid of inspiration and a resignedness to the day.
Three lower-order batmen out bowling at the stumps or just outside off.
And like Tubby said, for all the talk about Bazball, their bowling tactics are generally traditional Test cricket, and it's getting results.

AU 317 +_ 4/133
EG 592

First time without a specialist spinner and look what happens- 592
36 +28 David Warner excelled himself in this test

The name of a feathered bird is ....
The name given to a batsman out for zero is ....
When you are a zillion runs behind and batting time to save a game , and someone bowls a bouncer you should .....
The Dumb Blonde Smith did not DUCK a bouncer- he tried a quarter hearted hook and got out
His dismissal may have cost Australia the ashes
Champion batsman , one of the very best since Bradman and he would have to be disgusted with his dismissal

Soon after Smiths dismissal LAB plays a hook bat to helmet just over Johnny ''Darcy'' Bairstow- another dumb shot

LET THE POMS BOWL BOUNCERS- AND DUCK WEAVE OR WEAR A BRUISE- dont get out , and pray it rains

Rain needed- but undeserved if saves Australia

Sorry for the ranting
Im just dissapointed

That wasn't in the press conference was it?

I listened to it earlier today and didn't mind Bairstow biting back at the journalists, their stupid questions must get f**king frustrating to answer, especially Rory Dollard's who clearly can't move on from Bairstow's stumping at Lord's. It was two matches ago and that idiot just had to bring it up again.
