Over 300 would be great, but who knows ? The Saffies chased it down in Melbourne no worries but this pitch is a shocker....

250 plus should be enough. 300 impossible for them to chase down. Don't forget they are already 1 down effectively and possibly their best player as well.

I know where you're coming from, but our inability to bowl them out twice in the series is a concern Smith or no Smith.

The pitch is the main factor IMO compared to Perth & Melbourne.....

Give them 350 and put them in at Tea. If we can't beat them we do not deserve to win a Test this series. This pitch is one of the worst i have seen in many years in Australia, but it's a nice change instead of seeing flatter roads than the Southern Expressway each test....ban the drop in pitch I say ;)

Hayden looked alot better that innings, i hope he plays the ODI's and can regain some more form.

I think you'll find Haydos will get a go in the ODI's, but will probably be rotated out at some stage. Will be interesting to see if the rotation of players does continue this summer now that the triangular series has been scrapped.

I think if Haydos wants to go, the selectors will pick him for the South Africa tour.

If it's just a form slump and not some permanent deterioration of his ability, then we all know he can still be one of the best openers in the world once the form comes back.

Hopefully Jaques will be fit by then too, in case Haydos pulls the pin.

Does anyone else get the impression that Punter wants to get the target quickly to give his bowlers enough time to get 10 wickets?

See I beleive Hayden should not play in the ODI's, If we are serious about the next World Cup we have to start now and rotate players now and exposing them to international cricket. People may say don't rotate players but 3 world cups in a row and to play in the last 4 World Cup finals is proof that it does work.....

Ponting looking excellent, Katich scrapping like always.. Any score over 300 should be enough IMO but i think Punter will look for say a 340-60 lead then attack for an hour and a half tonight.

Punter gone but one feels the damage is already pretty much done. Hussey in now and it looks as if the pitch is just starting to play up again.
