Head v Renshaw for the final spot.
Renshaws stretch means he may be better suited to negating spin out of the rough.
It's not as if Heads form on the sub continent demands selection.

I don’t mind it.
Let’s see how it goes.

This is very true.. but then why not go Handscomb the right hander? Surely a right hander would handle better than a lefty with reach?

Handscomb and Renshaw are both playing.

Head’s recent Test form does demands selection

"Yeah we know you were Head and shoulders above any other batter this summer but you needed to win player of the series for both series', not just the first one, you can sit this one out".

Handscomb is in as well.

It's a horses for courses selection, they do it with bowlers all the time just so rarely with batters.

I don't mind it, I think we would all agree gun to head Renshaw & Handscomb are better players of spin....?

Trav will be back first test of the Ashes/Test Championship Final

See what pitch doctoring has done.
We've picked b grade batters.

When did what hand you wank with become a factor in choosing players?
Pick the best team regardless of wanking hand.

How do you work on your deficiencies if you are denied the opportunity that you've earnt?

What if them two perform well, will Head get lost to the wilderness, with Green to return he could be 4th in line for two possible spots.

He’s one of the first picked at home but he is still questionable on the sub continent IMO

Harder to have a horses for courses policy for batsmen because if you're a good bat, you're generally a good bat. :D

So is Warner, didn't he go ballistic in the ODI's vs Pakistan?

I think he's improved a few rungs since he has taken the Stokes led English approach.

So Travis Head is omitted because of his record in Asia or whatever
Yet David Warner , a perennial failure in Asia is selected[ He averages 33 in the sub cont ?]

Makes more sense to open with Renshaw drop Davy , and play The Trav
This is subject to David Warner batting right handed this test

Yep, no way Warner can play the Ashes or it just further proves what a bunch of cowards the selectors are
