Wow that was awful from Watson.

Johnson still not being able to swing the ball back in is frustrating; if he gets the wrist position right he could suddenly become an absolute gun test cricketer. But will he? He's 27 now and still isn't doing it while the Hilf and Tait can do it at will and both are two or three years younger. If we're going with the fourth quick get one of them in I say.

The Kiwis scoring rate is a bit of a worry. We have been plodding along for our last five tests and these blokes have scored a hundred for the session. That would put them in front by about tea time.

Tait's control has improved. I know he's far from a proven test player so yes, the Hilf would be ahead, BUT our pace attack lacks consistent swing which both of these guys offer.

Not from what I saw the other night Rockit. He was all over the shop as usual.

LUNCH DAY 2:

New Zealand 4/108

Taylor 40*
Flynn 6*

There were four wicket takers that session and they were:

Lee 1/22
Clark 1/31
Watson 1/19
Johnson 1/30

"That's lunch. Australia will had (sic) to lunch with a huge burden off their shoulders, especially after how their batsmen fared yesterday."

That is what Cricinfo reckons. I reckon that it is a worry we gave up a hundred runs for the session on a good bowling deck. Any lead will be a good one here and they'll have one just after tea at this rate. We'd need to bowl them out before tea to gain the advantage. Kiwis still ahead for mine.

They did score a lot of runs considering they also lost 4 wickets, we can't afford to give away cheapies on a deck like this.

Tighten it up in the second session boys.

The Kiwi's definitely have the upper hand but I can't see them winning this Test match. Australia will bowl them out next session and then will go on and make 350+ next innings.

They might score quickly but their tail looks as fragile as they come.

The first hour after lunch is crucial. Get rid of Taylor and rip past Vettori and we are on our way.

Vettori has improved with the bat and stands tall as skipper, need to get by him quickly.

NZ just on top. Make it 6/130 and we get back in front.

Game on moles.

The Kiwi's could crumble very quickly here. Game is evenly poised but i don't think it is panic stations for the Aussies just yet.

And all the Aussie Fielders and Symonds are totally dismayed by the decision which was obviously off the pad.
Symonds should go for Dissent. Thought that you are now meant to show the umpire respect by turning and facing him when appealing and NOT simply just run straight on towards the slips taking it as a Given that it is going to be given out.

It looked out, i thought it was out at first, until they showed the replays.

And if it was Harbajan Singh you'd all be squealing about what a disgrace to the game he is. :D

Ha ha - I never said it had been around for long.
Maybe they're mourning their shield defence mate ;)
