Voges 31

Haddin 22.

One of these blokes makes a good 100 and another makes a half century, we win.

England had 4 blokes make 50 or over in the first innings. Australia had 1

I agree that we didn't quite make enough runs, but Rogers nearly made a century and we ended up with 308, not a bad score in the 2nd innings of a test on a wicket which probably suited bowlers slightly more than batsmen.

I think conceding 430 in the 1st innings did it - how often do teams win after conceding 430?

However, the batsman did let the side down as a draw is certainly possible after conceding that score.

And if more of Englands players that made 50 made 100 you still wouldnt have won...

To many if and buts flying around...

Below is the list of times that someone has conceded 430+ when bowling first in the first innings, and then going on to win, surprised me a lot that there has only been 19 of them

When was the last time Warner actually made runs when it counts? Can bat but I think his best hasn't been for a while

He certainly is due for some big runs. Thought he applied himself well and did all the hard work in the first test (against some quality bowling) but did not reward himself. I have a feeling he will explode in this series and put up a couple of big scores!

SInce the last Ashes in Aus he has made at least one ton in every series he has played except for the 2 test series v WI just gone.
3 tons against South Africa away count as runs when it counts to me...

Seems a touch out of form I agree but to say he hasn't made runs when it counts is harsh IMO.

Surely Anderson is due for a warning?

Encroached the protected area during his follow through, multiple times during his first 2 overs.

Lords is Rogers' English Home ground he should enjoy batting here....

Warner just needs to dig in and fight hard. Spending time in the middle is the best way to find form.

Yep I agree. He's not doing his batters much of a favour.
Stop it or get off....for this innings.

0/62 after 13

Rogers 28
Warner 29

Poms heads starting to drop, meandering into position in the field.

Bit of swing though for Anderson. Still dangerous as is moving both ways.

Commentators now talking about Anderson and where he is running.
