Problem with that is, England have batsman in great form, we have alot of batsman right out of form, but yes alot of hard work to be done and show some Aussie fight.

I will be interested to see how England play it now, i would have thought they would have come out after tea all guns blazing and then had 3/4 hour at our batters, this rain has changed things a bit, still think however if the rain goes away we will be batting by about midday tomorrow

Add to that Katich and Pup don't appear to be fit.

Has been confirmed that Katich has an achilles injury, no news on Clarke but he is obviously struggling as well, talk going around that Marcus North may well have to open in our 2nd dig ;)

the poms may end up declaring overnight, or they will come out and smash a few around for an hour tomorrow morning

Tomorrow is where the game will be won or lost for the poms

Tuesday looks like it could be a washout

There's no point in the Poms batting on ... time is their enemy now, not runs.

Fielding at short leg with DOHerty and North bowling...you'd get hit by more balls than Paris Hilton.

Aussies just have to pray for rain, but really deserve to lose this one.

Mic, disagree, we don't deserve to lose anything, after 15 years of total domination of world cricket we have been very much spoiled, BUT, get on board, go to church and pray for the rain gods to help us out. Played golf with a POM this morning, had my best round for some considerable time, all spoilt by the POM talking about cricket, talk about a good walk ruined.

Why would North open? He generally bats in the middle order for WA.
I'd open Hussey. He's done it plenty of times before, even though he's our in-form player at the moment.

Poms should declare overnight. Reckon they will only need 2-3 sessions to roll us. The weather should let us get a session or two tomorrow. Dont think the rain can save us.

So with katich injury that make north safe for another test or role the dice and play two of hughes, Khawaja, Ferguson and maybe smith due to he bowls wrist spin.

So the bowling line up for the next test will most likely look like

Watson
Hilfy
Siddle
Harris

with smith as the 5th option. Don't really need to play a front line spinner as it will be a road like past years.

Test team I would pick would be
Watson
Hughes
Ponting
Khawaja (Clarke needs to be rested so he is fit for world cup as hes a handy bowling option)
Hussey
Ferguson
Haddin
Smith
Harris
Siddle
Hilfy

12 Man??? anyone on current teams form but cameron could be a good option but age against him as the team needs youth

With Hilditch as chairman of selectors, the next test line up will look like this.

North
darling
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Hauritz
Inverarity
Sincock
Parkinson
Zesers
Johnson

Just to fall in line with his current policy of picking talented youngsters.

The WACA has been taking spin well this season. Id swap doherty for okeefe and north for smith. Smith would strengthen the batting whilst giving us a second spin option. If clarke isnt fit bring in fergie or khawaja and if kat doesnt pull up then give hughes a go. We cant keep carrying unfit players. Clarke looked very proppy in the field and made a couple of bad misfields, clearly struggling. He needs a decent rest as this series is fairly condensed. Would rather him miss next test and be back for boxing day than to damage it more and miss the rest of the series.
