Typical of England lol, outstanding with the ball (and in the field) to really set the game up and the batsmen couldn't back it up. NZ back in it now!whufc wrote:NZ all out 132.
England start off at 0/58 by the end of the day are 7/116

17 wickets in a day equates to almost 9 overs in time. Also allowance is given for DRS to be completed so they probably take up the remaining overs lost.daysofourlives wrote:whufc wrote:NZ all out 132.

Absolute disgrace they were 12 overs short of a full days play, especially the price patrons pay to get in at Lords, watch them get no penalty for it. I dont want to hear the 17 wickets fell crap excuse.
Lets ban anybody else entering the oval outside of the drinks breaks for starters. If a set of gloves doesnt last for an hour, bad luck. Time for some serious penalties that really hits the hip pocket and in addition to that make them stay out there and complete the overs.

Seems spot on to me.

4 minutes per over is the allowance making it 15 overs per hour.
Sessions are 2 hours long with a 5 minute drinks break at the umpires discretion in consultation with the captains. Last over of the session must commence before the scheduled break time.
3 sessions of 2 hours equals 90 overs this doesn't take into account lost time for wickets taken (2 minute allowance) or waiting for DRS to conclude.

No offence to you personally but!
Boll..... LICKS
Get through the overs FFS. 90 overs allows for wickets, retreiving balls from the grandstand, change of out of shape balls, change of gloves, DRS, drinks breaks, other inane reviews and the like. It's not 44 degrees over there, just get through the overs FFS and stop giving people a reason to turn away from test cricket.

But in the section of minimum over rates it states that the minimum over rate will be 15 overs per hour. Simple maths 60 divided by 15 is 4 minutes allowed.Trader wrote:heater31 wrote:Ever had a read of the ICC playing conditions for Test Cricket?

4 minutes per over is only mentioned in the recalculation for lost time. At no point anywhere in the ICC playing conditions for test cricket does it mention 4 minutes per over under normal play.
6 hours for 90 overs, that's the expectation, and it includes all the 'expected delays' (a normal number of wickets, moving sight screens, fetching the ball from the boundary, three drinks breaks, etc).
