Was at the game, just got home. A few thoughts for now...

* Beautiful weather made it worthwhile.
* We are useless with more average recruits.
* Smallest crowd ever.
* We still stink.

I don't think the Redbacks are that frustrating because expectations are so low.

SA was 0/59 and cruising
Then the 21 year old debutant John DUTCHY Holland came on to bowl
He bowls left arm orthodox spin[ala Paul Jackson]
Irony as our DUTCHY and me and Bayman backed Victoria at the $1-80 gift odds.
After 3 overs DUTCHY had 2/10 [2/44 of 10]
In those 3 overs he almost becomes the best spinner in Australia !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jackpot Jim /Bayman and I spent the day in the Bayman stand
I was dissapointed with the 239 SA made as all batters gotta start and all in partnerships
Perhaps the shot of the innings was the first ball FERGUSON faced
Harwood just short of a length outside off peg he stroked it, nobody moved and it cannoned into the point fence
FERGY has the most talent in the SA batting line up but its invariably short + sweet
Daniel HARRIS played another very good o/day knock

The Vics got the runs easy
The shot of the day was HODGEY
I think Cleary bowled him this ball from the southern end
Hodged launched and it sailed outa the park
I reckon the ball landed in the ZOO
Chris ROGERS did his job and a good debut

MY VOTES

1 HODGE man of the match clearly
2 HARRIS
3 HOLLAND

BETTING
$1-80 the Vics was December 25 odds

That shot from Hodge was absolutely massive!!! Can't believe they actually got the ball back too.

Ferg, yep, lovely shot first ball and he's talented but as usual fails to make a score. And yes Holland moved to the top of the pecking order after his first 3 overs. :lol:
