Doherty just no good.He was on a hiding to nothing this morning though, england needed quick runs to declare, they were always going to tee off.
Throw a squillion at warnie. The poms would **** themselves if he walked out to bowl to them.
Just a pity okeefe not playibg against sa tomorrow they are going with smith and hauritz. Okeefe is better than both but cant get a game

IPL has alread thrown a squillion at Warne. Why would he want to waddle out there and have the rampant England batting order start to dismantle his reputation. The fact remains that none of the spinners in the land 'does anything' but at least Haurtiz can keep the runs down and hold up and end and our current pace attack needs someone who can do that.

BTW, saw Katich walking back to the Aussie rooms with an X Ray in his hand and I reckon I am currently moving better than the Kat and he has to be a long shot to play in Perth.

Doherty was supposed to be the economical spinner who would dry up the runs and put the pressure on and he went for 5.85 runs an over!

With the Kat ruled out of his home test, who will open?

Will Hughes be an Ashes wonder and lift a struggling Aussie side?

With the selectors love of Shaun Marsh, I honesly think he is a chance to play this test in Perth! I've been one of his bIggest critics, but he has been in form at the right time of the year, both as an opener and at number 4 for the WA side.
Every chance he will replace North if Hughes gets the openers gig!

Just curious to know some other peoples thoughts, maybe the aussie selectors need to pick some players from left field that are high on confidence, should they have a look at Dan Christian to play as an all rounder batting at 8. Might sound silly, just curious if im the only person thinking it

Marsh and Hughes both come in to open, Watson drops down, north goes out!

Allows Watson to bowl more which we need with the form of our bowling line up!

Sack hilditch the useless tool. He keeps picking these duds. The selectors have no idea lets drop hughes after one test because of a perceived weakness against short balls but north HAS a weakness against every ball and keeps getting picked. If we lose the match(and series) in perth ponting has to go aswell. Doherty is just not up too and dougie was lacking match fitness. I would swap cameron for doug and okeefe for doherty. Bring in hughes and bat watto in norths spot. Just get rid of north

Changes to the batting order is Hughes and Khawaja to open with watson dropping down with hilfy replacing bollinger and smith for doherty. If australia revert back to hauritz they are going backwards.

Watson, while not going on with it is one of the few things that is working for Australia at the moment. I reckon Watto could lose a bit of confidence should he bat lower down and this would override any positive out of him bowling an extra ten overs per innings.

If it's as bad as the one he posted the other day don't bother. It had Watson as the number four bowling option and Smith as the spinner.

I agree. There's a risk of doing too many things at once as others have suggested. To bring in another 2 players AND change the current batting line up could be too unsettling. If we do too much in this series with the view to the next 2 years we may as well hand over the series now. We have to balance continuity with form. eg, to shuffle the bowlers around again would be a mistake IMO. Keep it simple .. an opener in for Katich and then choose one of North/Ferguson/Khawaja.

Test wicket at the WACA is flat and will not take spin. smith plays as the 5th bowler while watson is used and bowl around 15-25 overs an innings
