No technology, no matter how advanced can compensate for the gross ineptitude of umpires Hill and Dharamaseena.

I don't think that helps one bit. They just needed to change the procedure of how it's used. Don't assume no spot means no edge and if the technology proves inconclusive don't take a challenge away.

I think ideally you make all bats have some sort of coating that helps show edges up. They say the tape they use dulls the effect, no doubt there's something you can put there to increase the effect.

For LBW's I don't believe the 3rd umpire should be allowed to refer to Hawkeye.
They should be able to look at a slow motion replay both front and side on and make their own judgment as to whether a ball is going on to hit or miss the stumps. They should not be accepting a computer program's predictions as fact.
Hawkeye should just be a gimmick for TV viewers like it used to be.

Or just have 3rd umpire on stumpings and run outs and leave the rest to the umpires .

They aren't accepting the predictions as fact. That's why they have an in built grey area where the decision stays with the umpire. The projection is not going to be more than the inch out that they give as leeway. Your suggestion is lunacy as it would simply then give the replays the power to then create doubt. It's up to the umpire in the middle to determine doubt, the referral system is there to deal with certainty.

Kohli given out first ball of the day to one that came off his shirt, missed the bat by a fair bit.

What about Vernon's send off? Love it! Only because it's against India though.
