No surprises to see the shit bloke not go up to Watto after he KO'd him, usually the bowler at least makes it look like he is concerned for the batsman after hitting him in the head.

Yeah, that bias against the bloke is really starting to show. Very, very few bowlers themselves would go and check the batsman's ok.

Very well batted by Watson though. Shame he didn't see out the day, would have been great to see him walk off unbeaten. Although Broad very nearly let him off the hook. Took the game by the scruff of the neck when things were looking tough before lunch and went on after making his ton (thanks to Cook). Tomorrow it will be important for Smith to do similar and for Haddin, Faulkner et al to make sure we get well beyond 400 now.

Never seen Pup crap himself like that before

I think Pups in for a couple of very interesting years to finish his career.

Don't think after this series his going to get to much nice full stuff from quick bowlers around the world, especially because of the way he has handled Broad, his bad back and the fact he hit a billion runs against what ended up being a very 'friendly' saffer tactics

Will retire before most attacks get a chance.

You're F***ing kidding aren't you??

It's documented in a Shield match that once when Merv Hughes hit Wayne Andrews (I think it was Andrews) he walked down said out loud, "He's not ******* Dead" walked back to the top of his mark and just waited until he could let fly with another bouncer. It's in a ghoasted Merv Hughes auto-biography written by a Norwood supporting poster on here.

Gee I don't like Broad but I'm not going to bag him for doing things we Australians have done in the past and will continue to do in the future.

Watson now has to back it up here in Australia and not go back and get low scores again.

Sometimes it just takes one knock for a bloke to really get going. This innings there were no nerves in the 90s and the simple fact he made a big hundred might just be enough to give him the confidence needed to take full toll of his talent.

I was pondering last night as they kept bowling at the stumps for the LBW how bowlers were frightened to get onto the pads of guys like Mark Waugh, Ponting, Hayden, Langer to just name a few. I think one way Watson can overcome this issue is by improving his run scoring there. Perhaps that will help solve his front pad issue but more importantly if he becomes proficient there bowlers will bowl that ball a lot less.

Cowan, Khawaja, Hughes... Watson seems the logical 3 for the summer. At least when he comes off he does some damage. If Uzi had of been at 3 he wouldn't have taken the attack to those English pussjules

Added to Smith to the lineup.

The one thing that has really surprised me with him is that he is one of the very few Aussie batsmen (Rogers excluded) who is able/willing to go through a rough trot in a innings and grind his way through a tough period and then score freely later on.

Watson, Warner, Haddin and even Clarke recently either come out and smash the ball around from ball 1 and make a big score or struggle from the get go and end up succumbing cheaply
