on foxsports these days

Thats poo. But i suppose we should start getting used to it.

Fox Sports are showing 27 of the 31 games live this year. C9 showed about 9 at most when they had it.

If you cant show it, dont buy the rights.

It would be a bit hard for 9 to show more then they did, when there are tests and one dayers on at the same time.

Im going to make a few of my usual controversial comments.

Number 1

HAURITZ costs NSW the game :?:

The turning point of this game was when HAURITZ took that sensational
catch at 3rd man to dismiss centurion ELLIOTT....allowing BORGAS to come
in and smash that excillerating 31 of 9 balls !

Number 2

BORGAS man of the match :?:

All game every batsmen scored at about a run a ball from both sides.
ELLIOTs innings was a sheer gem to get so may runs so quickly.
BUT all was in vain until the BORGAS gem.

Number 3

NICHOLSON [32] BLEWETT[35] past thier use by date :?: too early to tell
as both have the ability to improve immensely, but it was sad to see two
wonderful former Australian cricketers struggling today.

Number 4

Even though we did eventually win it only masked the error in not having
LEHMANN batting higher :?:

What do the experts think :?:

Elliott set up the opportunity for Borgas, without Elliott's innings we would not of been so close with few overs to go

On Bluey, I agree, he has been sensational for SA cricket but he has been carried for 2 seasons now, he needs to be omitted and needs to win his place back, for respect more then anything

Agree with the Boof comment

As I regard you as a true expert, SD if Hauritz dropped ELLIOT do you
think we could have won :?:

I think Blewitts selections credits from the previous 12 years have been used up over the last two. Time to produce or time to go....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

If But's Maybe's ????

Boof would of had more time at the crease, who knows

All I am saying Elliotts innings was the corner stone of our success today, Borgas was magnificent but that is one day cricket, sometimes you hit them sometimes you don't

Elliott 111 almost a run a ball was sensational

ELLIOTT did a fine job, but I doubt he has the smashing capabilities of
what BORGAS produced.
If ELLIOTT was not out at the end + BORGAS did not bat :?: we would have lost.

never in doubt, but the thing that kept nsw in the game was the shortened overs

For the last time SD I acknowledge ELLIOTTS superb effort and Ifs and Buts
But lets get to reality at the point ELLIOTT was dismissed.
Im merely making the point at the time he got out we were
not going to win the way he was batting.
Matty was scoring at about a run a ball, sure he may have increased the
tempo in those frantic last 2 overs, but I doubt that he could have
replicated the 31 runs in 9 balls that BORGAS did.
ELLIOTT is a classic batsman not a tonker.
Hence HAURITZ cost NSW the game by catching him.

For the last time I hear your point

BUT if Elliott did not hit a century and got out for 30, SA could of been dismissed for 220

Borgas innings was great hitting and yes got SA over the line but Elliott got SA to the point Borgas could see the finish line, which won is more valuable, SA could not of won without either innings, but purely for the weight of numbers I would give it to Elliott

In a game of footy, for the Saints, if Fraser kicks 10 goals but comes off injured in the last, you are down by 17pts with 4 minutes to go and you move Kosi from the ruck to up forward and Kosi takes 3 contested marks and kicks 3 goals in 4 minutes and the saints win by a point

Who gets BOG, Kosi won the game but Fraser was BOG over the journey

Today, Borgas pulled it out of the fire but for me Elliott was man of the match over the journey

it's only my opinion, not saying I am right :D

What a game!! Fantastic effort by the Redbacks, who were the better side pretty much all day. It wasn't Hauritz who cost NSW the match but Matty Nicolson who was bloody awful from go to whoa. I knew the match was lost when Haddin threw the ball to him. I think Haddin also put a bit too much faith in young Moises as well. He had Douggie Bollinger and Thornley up his sleeve and should have used them.

From an SA point of view, they sure have some very impressive younger players and also a good sprinkling of experience. I was most impressed by Cleary, Tait (again), Bailey, Borgas and Ferguson (?, the kid who made the runs late...forget his name). SA should be well placed in both competitions this season with the only downside some pretty average fielding at times.

Redbacks deserved winners in a sensational finish.

regards,

REB

Headlines in todays Advertiser are praising the bang bang bang
inninngs of Cameron Borgas ..........despite the well deserved match winning
century by Matty Elliott....who got a mention later in the articles.

There is a doubt on Matty being available for tomorrows Pura Cup game v NSW.
Do we have to play the o/d game first ?
Makes sense to play the 4 day game first.
Quite often someone pulls out of the 4 days games thru injury.

Stewie Macgill is also in doubt for the p/c cup game

NSW had the upper hand in the fielding. I thought it would almost be the deciding factor.

The game yesterday showed why Australian cricket is in such a strong position. The game was played at the toughest level, between two sides that would beat most international sides in an ODI.
